Revlon Nail Art Shiny Matte Nail Enamel in "Khaki Satin": Review and Swatches

Disclaimer: Product featured was provided for review.
Happy Sunday everyone! I have here another one of Revlon's new nail polishes, the Revlon Nail Art Shiny Matte Nail Enamel in "Khaki Satin". This one is a lovely matte asphalt grey and a shimmery purple combo, to read my review, click......

Two coats of matte polish.
The matte gray that's part of the "Khaki Satin" is simply gorgeous. The formula is superbly smooth and opaque and it dried in a flash. I found this even easier to work with compared to the matte dark blue of the "Pinstripe" (a previously reviewed shade from the Shiny Matte line). The matte gray on its own reminds me of a dried clay mask, it's not a look for everyone but I quite like it!
Moving on to the "Shiny" component of the polish. The satin portion of "Khaki Satin" is a shimmery purple, the finish of this is dramatically different than the shiny polish of "Pinstripe", which had a gorgeous foil metallic finish that contrasted the matte base very well. This shimmery purple didn't stand out as much as I would like against the asphalt gray. I tried stamping on the color as I did with Pinstripe but the polish just wouldn't cooperate. So in the end I opted for some simple dotting near the tip of my nails.
Overall, I am not overly impressed by this particular shade from the line. I took a look at the whole collection and it seems some of the shiny polishes are very nice metallic foils while others have a more shimmery quality like this purple of "Khaki Satin". So if you are planning to pick up a few of these, I recommend choosing those with a metallic shiny polish because they would give a more stunning contrast to the matte polish and would also allow you to do some intricate stamping.

What do you think of this one? Do you like the shimmery and matte contrast? Let me know in the comments below!
