Sephora Rouge Infusion 10 Hour Lip Stain in "Cherry Nectar": Review and Swatches

Disclaimer: This item was purchased by me.
Amongst the plethora of lip products I picked up during Sephora's 15% VIB sale was this lip stain from the Sephora brand called the Rouge Infusion 10 Hour Lip Stain ($17 CAD). I feel like I am always on the look out for the perfect long lasting vampy berry red lip color so when I saw the color "Cherry Nectar" I knew I had to have it!

What it is:
-A zero texture lip stain that leaves lips super pigmented
-The weightless formula does not leave a sticky residue
-Makes the lips feel refreshed and hydrated upon application

Packaging:
The Rouge Infusion comes in a very long and thin, almost vial-like tube. The applicator is a traditional doe-foot applicator.
I am not a fan of the packaging for two reasons. Firstly, the product is meant to be stored upside down give the fact that the bottom of the tube is rounded. This becomes problematic during application because the uncapped tube cannot stand on its own, which means I have to keep it lying flat. But because the tube is round, it rolls around on my desk so it's quite a nuisance. Secondly, the font and the silver print on the packaging is just unappealing. As you will find out, this is quite a lovely product, but with such poor packaging design, I honestly feel like it will be overlooked by a lot of shoppers.

Formulation & Application:
As promised, the Rouge Infusion really delivers! The color "Cherry Nectar" is a gorgeous vampy red that almost leans a little burgundy. The formulation is weightless and it truly leaves behind no yucky residue on the lips. Because the color is so intense, I opted to apply the product using a lip brush to give me cleaner lines. The product has no finish because it basically tints your lips with color. The lips can look and feel a little dry after application so it's best to top it off with a balm or gloss, which unfortunately will compromise the wear but it's a give and take situation.

Longevity:
The stain lasts all day.

Here is an arm swatch of the product immediately after application, before it sets.

Here are some lip swatches of the product worn on it's own and with a balm.
Pros:
-Intense pigmentation
-All-day wear
-Zero residue and completely weightless

Cons:
-Impractical and unappealing packaging
-Slightly drying

Overall:
If you are looking for some intense lip stain, look no further. This is literally the best lip stain I have tried because it (this particular shade, at least) is the most pigmented one I have tried. I also really love that it left behind no yucky residue that other lip stains tend to leave behind.
