Stila Stay All Day Precision Glide Brow Pencil and Brow Gel in "Black": Review and Swatches
If you love brow products, then Stila has got you covered with its Spring 2015 releases full of brow pencils, brow gels, and brow pens! Today I am reviewing the Stay All Day Precision Glide Brow Pencil in "Black" ($27 CAD) and the Stay All Day Brow Gel in "Black" ($44 CAD). To see swatches and read my review, click......
Stay All Day Precision Glide Brow Pencil in "Black" ($27 CAD):
Available in five shades to accommodate most hair colors, this brow pencil features a super thin twist-up lead made with mica minerals, oils, and vitamin combination that ensures waterproof wear and smooth application.

The pencil comes in a sleek packaging with a spooley brush on the opposite side of the lead. The precision tip makes it super easy to fill in your brows with individual hair-like strokes and the formulation is smooth but not overly creamy in a way that makes it prone to smudging.

"Black" is a dark gray, the perfect shade for those with black hair. Too often brands only release dark browns that never look natural on me so I love it when brands cater to black-haired gals (and not just brunettes).
The formulation is quite long lasting, it's waterproof and initially fairly smudge-proof but at the end of the day the pencil will smudge if you accidentally rub your brows.

Update: I've been using this pencil for a long time now and after about three months, the packaging of this literally fell apart! The brush end fell out of the pencil tube and then the pencil tube itself basically came apart. I still really love this formulation, but the packaging needs some serious update, ASAP!

Stay All Day Brow Gel in "Black"
Stila Stay All Brow Gel in "Black" ($44 CAD):
For those that want bolder brows, the Stay All Day Brow Gel is the perfect product. Packaged in a squeezable tube with a unique spoon-shaped dispensing nozzle. The spoon shape acts like a tiny blending palette that helps you load the included brush with just the right amount of product (no need to use the back of your hand as a mixing palette).
The included brush has a thin angled brush on one end and a spooley on the other. The brush works fairly well, but I still find it tricky to make very nice and fine strokes.

The formulation of the brow gel is quite viscous and it sets with lightening speed. I feel like if I squeeze a reasonable amount out onto the spoon nozzle and dip my brush to get some products, the rest will pretty much dry up within seconds. This leads to lots of wasted products. Aside from that drawback, the wear of the gel is great! It's not quite waterproof, but it's very smudge-proof.
"Black" is a dark black, not as dark as black gel liners, but it's still quite intense.

Here are a comparison between my bare brows, the Stila Brow Pencil, and the Stila Brow Gel. As you probably can notice, the pencil gives a natural but defined look while the brow gel provides a bolder effect. The brow gel is so pigmented it's hard to be subtle with it.

Two big wins from Stila! The Stay All Day brow pencil is perfect for everyday brows, the precision tip makes application so easy and effortless. The brow gel is great for those with darker features that want an even bolder look. The wear on both are quite impressive and I highly recommend these if you like to fill in your brows on a regular basis!

Stila is available online and in stores at Sephora, Shoppers, and Murale.
