NEW Venus Swirl Razor: Review

Seeing that it's Valentine's Day today, I think it's quite fitting to talk about the new Gillette Venus Swirl Razor ($19.99 CAD for one razor and two cartridges). Equipped with the innovative, brand new Flexiball handle, this razor glides across every contour of the body, providing a flawless shave. Venus Swirl Razor

Although the unique handle is the main star of the new Venus Swirl Razor, there are actually quite a few innovations in this razor. But let's start with the main feature: the Flexiball. Instead of a traditional handle, Venus Swirl has a large silver ball that connects the razor head to the razor handle. The ball allows the razor head to swivel left and right to accommodate curves and dips on the body.
The swivel Flexiball feature only allows the razor to safely rotate to a certain degree so you get flexibility but not uncontrolled swerving.

Another innovation of the Venus Swirl is its MicroFine comb, a tiny row of little plastic teeth that helps capture every hair so the blades can provide the closest shave. This is such a genius feature, it's so intuitive yet it's the first time I've seen something like this on a razor.

In addition to the Flexiball handle and the MicroFine comb, the blades of the Venus Swirl are in fact the thinnest blades from Gillette! And like most Venus razors, Swirl comes with a MoistureGlide serum around the blades to help the blades glide.

I gave the razor a try a couple nights ago and the Flexiball handle truly makes a difference! I often have trouble shaving the back of my legs and my ankles without accidentally nicking myself. However, with a handle that swivels, I can easily reach tricky areas without have to contort my body or strain my wrist!
