Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Nightly Brightening Pads & Green Apple Peel Full Strength: Review

Disclaimer: Product featured was provided for review.
If you love the result of spa facials but aren't a fan of the excess cost, then Juice Beauty's got you covered with its spa-grade Green Apple Peel range. Today I want to share with you a couple of products from the line, the Green Apple Peel Nightly Brightening Pads ($54 CAD) and the Green Apple Peel Full Strength ($50 CAD). I've been using both for quite a while now, so if you are interested in my thoughts on these, click.......

Green Apple Peel Full Strength
Green Apple Peel Full Strength ($54 CAD):
Packed with a full dose of alpha hydroxy acids (malic, citric & tartaric from organic fruits, glycolic and lactic acids) and beta hydroxy acid (salicylic acid from willow bark) from green apples, the Green Apple Peel brightens and smooths the skin by chemically exfoliating it, reducing the appearance of fine lines, discoloration, and age spots. Also formulated with various vitamin, the peel nourishes the skin.
However, unlike your typical mask/cream that contains a bit of AHA, this stuff is strong (hence the Full Strength part). The mask has a runny, almost butter milk like consistency with a slightly fruity scent.
To use, simply apply a generous layer of the product on clean face (definitely avoid eye and lip area) and leave on for 10 minutes. When using this, I felt a pretty noticeable tingling and warming sensation (which is normal) and after removal my face remained very flushed for about half an hour (which is also normal). After the slightly alarming redness goes away, my skin does feel more smooth, almost renewed.
So this product is definitely not for those with uber sensitive skin or those that suffer various skin conditions as the large dose of AHA in this is potent. A patch test is strongly recommended before using and definitely do not use this in the morning or before going out. Also, apply a thinner layer to lessen the tingling and redness.

*The Green Apple Peel comes in two other variations: for acne prone skin and for sensitive skin.

Green Apple Peel Nightly Brightening Pads ($54 CAD):
Much like the Green Apple Peel Full Strength, this product is designed to brighten, smooth, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and discoloration. In addition, these bamboo pads are infused with hyaluronic acid, organic algae, licorice roots, and cane sugar to further nourish and treat the skin.

Each jar comes with 60 sheets of circular pads made from eco-friendly bamboo. I find the pads a bit too thin and flimsy and they aren't really infused with enough of the product so I sometimes need to use two sheets to cover my whole face. Compared to the Green Apple Peel Full Strength, this product is much less potent. In fact, after having used the peel every couple of weeks, this pad really doesn't seem to make much of a difference as its main purpose is also to smooth and chemically exfoliate the skin. However, because this one is much gentler, it's a great option for those with sensitive skin.

Lastly, it's important to mention that the active ingredients in these two products (AHA and BHA) increases the skin's sensitivity to the sun. So I suggest decreasing the usage during the summer and wearing plenty of sun care during the day.
