NEW The Body Shop Drops of Youth Collection Releases: Review

Disclaimer: The products featured were provided for review.
Recently, The Body Shop has revamped their Drops of Youth Collection with a new three plant stem cell reformulation. Designed to renew and nourish the skin, the Drops of Youth line promises a fresher, more youthful complexion. To read a bit about the three new product, click.......

All three Drops of Youth products are infused with a blend of three plant stem cells, which are considered the "renewal engine" of plants. The three carefully chosen plants are edelweiss, sea holly, and criste marine. Edelweiss is known for its antioxidant properties, sea holly for its firming ability, and criste marine for cell renewal.

The Body Shop Drops of Youth | Youth Essence Lotion ($22 CAD):
A completely new product for the line, the Youth Essence Lotion has a viscous serum-like formulation. In fact, the liquid lotion seems to have small bits of debris floating throughout. In addition to the plant stem cells, the Youth Essence Lotion is formulated with aloe juice, hyaluronic acid, and ginger extract. I like to apply this with a cotton pad and it absorbs quite quickly. You can also apply it directly with the palm of your hands, which is actually less wasteful and would promote more absorption. The formulation is very soothing and hydrating; I personally think it's a great stand-in for both my daily toner and serum!

The Body Shop Drops of Youth | Youth Concentrate ($50 CAD):
Part of the original Drops of Youth line, the Youth Concentrate has been reformulated to include the triple plant stem cells. This is a runny serum that also contains beech bud extract, Irish moss extract, hyaluronic acid, and babassu palm oil. It dispenses from a glass dropper so you can control exactly how much to apply. Compared to the Youth Essence Lotion, this product has a thinner texture that also absorbs very quickly. The concentrate promises a fresher and more youthful skin. My face indeed feels and looks more brightened and plump in the morning.

The Body Shop Drops of Youth | Youth Cream ($34 CAD):
Last but not least is a new face cream called the Youth Cream. This cream has a very light, whipped texture. I love how soft and moisturizing it is but the silicone base does not sit well with my skin. I'm not on the anti-silicone train but face creams with silicones tend to sit atop of my skin, leaving behind a slick and uncomfortable residue, instead of penetrating the skin and providing an invisible, weightless hydration.

Overall, both the Youth Concentrate and Youth Essence Lotion have been working great for me. They are incredibly nourishing and hydrating without feeling greasy.
