Estee Lauder Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Balm: Review

If you love cleansing oils and cleansing balms then get excited for the new Estee Lauder Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Balm ($50 CAD). Rich yet lightweight, this silky balm promises to deeply cleanse the pores and completely remove all traces of makeup and dirt. I've been using this for the past couple of weeks and am totally blown away with the result. To read my full review, click......

Packaged in a simple and unassuming plastic wide-mouthed jar, the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Balm has the consistency of coconut oil at room temperature. The product is solid in the jar but as soon as you dip your finger into it and scoop up a small chunk, the balm will soften and melt into the skin. The product is formulated mainly with ethylhexyl palmitate and safflower oil, added with extracts of lady's thistle, algae, chamomile, and lavender. There is a subtle lavender scent and the texture feels amazing on the skin. Unlike the Kat Burki Vitamin C Nourishing Cleansing Balm, the only other cleansing balm I've tried, the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Balm leaves behind no greasy residue! After spreading the product all over the face, a tiny bit of water helps turn the balm into a milky texture that washes off in a cinch.

The best part, though, is that the balm even takes off my trusty and uber tough waterproof mascara from Fairy Drops (along with any other traces of makeup, dirt, and oil)! The only cleansing products that can do that are the Shu Uemura Cleansing Oils so I am glad that this product is able to do the same. My only critique of the product is the price, for $50 you only get 70ml while for $36, you can get 150ml from Shu Uemura... and I thought Shu Uemura was expensive! Admittedly you can more out of the balm as it's easier to spread and less likely to go to waste during application but I've only been using this for a while and I am a good chunk into the jar. Overall, though, this is an amazing product. I give it two thumbs up!
