Edens Garden | Essential Oil Perfume Collection: Review
Earlier this summer, the California-based essential oil brand Edens Garden released an Essential Oil Perfume Collection made with therapeutic-grade, 100% essential oils. Consisting of a 20% blend infused in a pure grain alcohol and propanediol base (and no other ingredients), these natural perfumes promise up to 12 hours of wear and aromatherapeutic benefits. I've got details and reviews of all six scents to share with you today. To read on, click......
Housed in a tall, 30ml frosted glass bottle, all six Edens Garden Essential Oil Perfumes are similarly packaged. The overall aesthetic is rather plain and simple and my only real critique is that the clear acrylic caps are rather difficult to remove and replace. However, the bottle is slim compact, making it great for traveling.
Edens Garden | Essential Oil Perfume in "Allure", "Rose Bergamot" & "Lavender Magnolia": Review
Edens Garden | Essential Oil Perfume in "Allure", "Rose Bergamot" & "Lavender Magnolia"
Edens Garden | Allure Essential Oil Perfume ($65 CAD for 30 ml):
With the most complex profile out of all six fragrances, Allure is described as a sensual and spicy scent intended to evoke a "magnetic sensuality". Unfortunately, this one is a miss for me because all the top and middle notes are completely dominated by the patchouli and cocoa, which give off an acrid, earthy smell. The harshness does mellow after 15 or so minutes but I think the initial punch will deter most noses. You may enjoy Allure if you like a heavy patchouli but I think most will find the scent too rough and bitter.

Top Note: Bergamot
Heart Notes: Jasmine, Rose, Ylang Ylang, Cinnamon Bark, Cistus
Base Notes: Vanilla, Patchouli, Vetiver, Sandalwood, Cocoa.

Edens Garden | Rose Bergamot Essential Oil Perfume ($65 CAD for 30 ml):
Opening with a juicy and mouthwatering splash of bergamot, Rose Bergamot is your classic, feminine citrus floral. The rose is prominent but not overpowering and the subtle patchouli rounds out the scent with a warm undertone. If you like a pure, unadulterated rose fragrance then this is probably one of the best picks on the market!

Top Note: Bergamot
Heart Note: Rose
Base Note: Patchouli

Edens Garden | Lavender Magnolia Essential Oil Perfume ($65 CAD for 30 ml):
With crisp notes of lemon and bergamot, this is clean and fresh lavender scent that's sweetened with a hint of magnolia and vanilla. Interestingly, Lavender Magnolia stands out to me as the most "essential oil" smelling of the six. It's got that signature herbal, slightly medicinal smell that I would expect floating out of a diffuser. However, I think that may actually be a draw for most people as it certainly stands out from every other lemon lavender fragrance on the market.

Top Notes: Bergamot, Lemon
Heart Notes: Magnolia, Lavender
Base Note: Vanilla
Edens Garden | Essential Oil Perfume in "Vanilla Sandalwood", "Shine" & "XOXO": Review
Edens Garden | Essential Oil Perfume in "Vanilla Sandalwood", "Shine" & "XOXO"
Edens Garden | Vanilla Sandalwood Essential Oil Perfume ($65 CAD for 30 ml):
With a name like Vanilla Sandalwood, I was expecting this one to be your typical, run-of-the-mill sweet, woody vanilla. However, with a light mist of magnolia balanced with the soft sweetness of myrrh, Vanilla Sandalwood is unique and delicate. The scent is super calming and while it is sweet, it's also surprisingly fresh. Unfortunately, the wear is particularly short as the scent appears to fade significantly after just an hour or so.

Top Note: Magnolia
Heart Note: Myrrh
Base Notes: Vanilla, Sandalwood

Edens Garden | Shine Essential Oil Perfume ($65 CAD for 30 ml):
With bright notes of tangerine, lemon myrtle, and Melissa, Shine is a fresh, cheery citrus perfectly balanced with the sweet, musky notes of elemi and osmanthus. The scent is definitely one of the more unique and well-composed out of the six but it also suffers from a shorter wear time.

Top Notes: Tangerine, Lemon Myrtle, Lavandin
Heart Notes: Lavender, Melissa, Elemi
Base Notes: Sandalwood, Ylang Ylang, Osmanthus

Edens Garden | XOXO Essential Oil Perfume ($65 CAD for 30 ml):
Last but not least is XOXO, a warm, exotic fragrance oozing notes of spicy ginger, clove, and cardamom. I personally really enjoy warm, spicy perfumes but this one is a bit too heavy and medicinal for me. I wish there were a better balance of floral notes and perhaps a little splash of citrus. However, the wear time is great and if you like a really intense spice that gives of a strong bohemian vibe, then definitely check this one out.

Top Note: Ginger
Heart Notes: Damiana, Jasmine, Cardamom, Cinnamon, Clove
Base Notes: Vanilla, Sandalwood

I've not tried a lot of essential oil perfumes before but I'm quite impressed with this line-up from Edens Garden. Not every scent was agreeable with my nose but all six fragrances are unique and authentic. The average wear time (roughly three to four hours) is actually shorter in comparison to the average non-essential perfume but that's not a dealbreaker for me as I love re-applying a great smelling scent. My personal picks are Rose Bergamot, Vanilla Sandalwood, and Shine. Have you tried essential oil perfumes before? Do you have any recommendations? Share with me in the comments below!
