Urban Decay | Holiday 2018 Elements Eyeshadow Palette: Review and Swatches
In celebration of the holiday season, Urban Decay has created a beautiful eyeshadow palette featuring 19 never-before-seen celestial shades inspired by the four elements. Formulated with multidimensional, ultra-iridescent shimmers and sparkles, the Urban Decay Elements Eyeshadow Palette ($65 CAD for 16.5 g) offers impressive color payoff and an ever-so-velvety formulation. Packaging:
The Elements Eyeshadow Palette comes in a large round plastic compact printed with colorful titanium quartz on the outside and a sparkling glitter pattern on the inside. The palette feels very sturdy and well-made and it also contains a very large mirror on the inside. The middle eyeshadow shade is 1.5g, the inner row of eyeshadows are 0.7 g each, and the outer row of eyeshadows are 0.9 g each.

Formulation:
Inspired by the four elements of air, earth, fire, and water, the Elements palette comes with four mattes, four shimmers, and eleven metallics in a good mix of neutrals and brights. As is with all Urban Decay eyeshadows, the majority of the eyeshadows in this palette are silky, creamy, and pigmented. The shimmers (especially the inner row of colors) do contain some fallouts but the application is mostly hassle-free. A few exceptions, namely "Hex Remedy" and "Fire Starter", are somewhat patchy and chalky but the rest of the shades are smooth and even. Overall, this is the quintessential Urban Decay eyeshadow palette filled with nuanced jewel-tone metallics and shimmers. With the exception of a few duds, most of the shades are buttery smooth and nicely pigmented. If you already have quite a few Urban Decay palettes on hand, I'm not sure if this is a must-have. However, if you are new to the brand, then this palette is a good one to start with.
