Just about every beauty fanatic I've ever talked to loves their Clarisonic so about three weeks ago I started giving the much-talked about Clarisonic Mia 2 Skin Cleansing System a try and today I would like to share with you my in-depth review of the device and my experience with the product . Clarisonic Mia 2 Skin Cleansing System: Review
Clarisonic Mia 2 in Pink with brush cap
What it is:
-The Clarisonic Mia 2 is a micro-oscillating face cleansing device designed to perfectly cleanse the skin in just one minute
-The device cleans the skin six times better than manual cleansing and is shown to reduce pore size, improve skin radiance, and helps with the absorption of skincare products
-Completely waterproof, the device can be used in the shower
-Rechargeable battery lasts 28 minutes, or one month if the device is used once a day or two weeks if used twice a day
-The device does not exfoliate the skin (it only removes makeup, natural impurities, and very superficial dead skin cells), does not induce overproduction of sebum, and it does not compromise skin elasticity

What's included in the box:
-The Clarisonic Mia 2 (available in various colors, the one I have is the pink Mia 2)
-Charger with cord
-Sensitive brush head (other types of brush heads are available)
-Brush cap
-Travel case
-30ml Refreshing Gel Cleanser
Clarisonic Mia 2 Skin Cleansing System: Review
The Brush Head:
Made with a special type of rounded-tipped polyester filaments (the Dupont Hytrel Super Soft Filament), the brush helps gently cleanse (but not exfoliate or scratch) the skin. The special fiber is also non-porous so it dries very quickly and is bacteria-resistant.
It is recommended for the brush head to be replaced every three months.

Replaceable brush head made with special round-tipped polyester filament.
How it works:
Unlike many other copycat devices on the market, the Clarisonic does not rotate or spin on itself. The inner section of the brush head micro-oscillates back and forth 300 times per second. This action gently cleanses the skin by massaging the skin and removing makeup and dirt.

Charging the device:
The Clarisonic charges with the included charger that attaches to the device magnetically (so cool!). The device needs to be charged 24 hours before first use and 18 hours after 28 minutes of use. I do feel like the charging time is really long compared to the majority of other electronic devices I own at home but I guess since you only need to recharge a maximum of two times per month, it's not really a big deal.

Special features of the Mia 2:
-Mia 2 has a special two-speed setting, changing the speed changes the amplitude of oscillation
-The "1 Minute T-Timer" feature pauses the device momentarily to signal the user when to move on to the next area of the face

How to use:
1. Apply Cleanser to skin or the brush head. I do either depending on which cleanser I am using. When I use a gel or foam cleanser, I like to squeeze the product onto the brush but if I am using a cleansing oil, I like to apply the oil directly on my face and distribute it evenly before using the Clarisonic.

2. Turn on device and select desired speed, I use the high setting as I don't find a huge difference between the high and low setting.
3. Once the device is turned on, the one minute timer starts (it can be paused by pressing the power button). Gently glide the brush in circular motion, spending 20 seconds on the forehead, 20 seconds on the nose and chin, and ten seconds on each cheek. The device will buzz and pause each time to signal you when to move on to the next area.

4. The device will automatically shut off after one minute. Rinse face with water and clean the brush head with hot water and soap.

*Note: When using the Clarisonic, do not apply excessive pressure or use the brush head as a scrubbing device. During my research I watched several videos where the user was being very aggressive with the device, which I think could possibly contribute to the skin sensitivity some people experience with the device. Because the way the Clarisonic is designed, it is best to let the brush glide smoothly on the skin for optimal cleansing.

My Thoughts & Results:
I simply adore this product and really wish I had started using it earlier. I often read conflicting reviews about the Clarisonic so I never knew if it was right for me but honestly this device is awesome! I use it twice a day and after each use my skin feels so incredibly soft and clean, it's like a whole other level of face cleansing! I did not experience any sensitivity or breakouts caused by the device. The Mia 2 is the perfect size and super easy to bring into the shower.
My one critique for the device is the timer setting. I wish there is a way to turn on the device without setting off the timer because sometimes I miss an area or want to focus a little more on certain areas and it's impossible (as far as I know) to turn on the device for only a few seconds and shutting it off after that without leaving it on for the full one minute duration.
The device has a 90 day satisfaction guarantees so there honestly is no reason not to give it a try!
