Garnier Color Styler Intense Wash-Out Color: Review
What Comes in the Box:
The Garnier Color Styler comes in a 50ml bottle. Unlike permanent hair dyes, the color already comes pre-mixed, all you have to do is shake and apply. The dye also comes with a pair of reusable black rubber gloves.

Application & Formulation:
The Color Styler is very runny, it has the consistency of heavy cream so it's important to be careful not to squeeze too much out of the bottle. Infused with clay, this highly pigmented color coats the hair's surface, without creating any damage. Depending on how much you apply, the product does take a bit of time to dry but once it dries it doesn't rub off on skin or clothes.
Garnier Color Styler Intense Wash-Out Color: Review
The box gives suggestion for styles you can try with the Color Styler and I opted for the Tie & Dye ombre effect. At first the application was fine. The color went on quite boldly, the blue showed up surprisingly well on my black hair. I had hoped to capture a nice picture of the result but as the color dried I find that it added a lot of texture to my hair, to the point where I honestly could not even comb my hair. At one point I had to use my Tangle Teezer because my hair was becoming a giant matted heap. I managed to partially untangle some of my hair but in the end I was forced to wash my hair in attempt to get it back to its normal texture.
Even after spending quite some time in the shower shampooing and conditioning, my hair still had a very rough texture, which made it impossible to properly comb them. There were a bit of color left and after another shampooing the next night, 99% of the color was gone.

Overall:
This product has a great idea- temporary hair dye that lasts only a couple of washes. However, the formulation was quite problematic. The product made my hair very rough and textured, causing uncontrollable tangling and matting. This could perhaps work if you are doing only one or two thin streaks but something like an ombre will not work.

Availability:
Garnier Color Style is available in four more colors at various drug stores across Canada.
