Lush Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub: Review
After falling completely in love with the Lush limited-edition Salt and Peppermint Bark Body Scrub, I could not resist from trying the new Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub Bar ($9.95 CAD). Made with fine sea salt, illipe butter, and cupuacu butter, this bar has a soft floral scent that's a blend of jasmine, mimosa, and orange flower. So how did this live up to my expectation? Read on to find out......
Lush Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub: Review
Lush Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub Bar
Adorned with a real dried sakura flower, the Rub Rub Rub Scrub Bar is tinted with a soft shade of pink, making it a very pretty shower pal. Unfortunately, this shower bar was a huge dud for me. The ingredients and the concept of Rub Rub Rub are very similar to that of the Salt and Peppermint Bark, which I loved. However, Rub Rub Rub was incredibly abrasive!
After a gentle scrubbing in the shower, it actually left visible red and a few slightly bloody scratches (and I am not joking) all over my body. Despite the description claiming that the bar is made of fine sea salt, the salt crystals on this were huge! I didn't really notice them at first but after a few rubs, I had to abruptly stop because the burning sensation was too strong.
Although I was super disappointed with the product, I decided to give it another chance and this time I thoroughly soaked the bar in water for a good ten or so seconds to soften the product and possibly smooth out the chunky salt crystals embedded on the surface of the bar. Unfortunately, my attempt made no difference.
So all in all, this product did not work for me! The only use I could find for it was as a foot scrub, and even then I had to be very gentle. Lush has some amazing products, but this was not one of them.
