Spring & Summer 2018 Fragrance Reviews: Mon Guerlain Florale, Givenchy Dahlia Divin Eau Initiale, Givenchy Live Irresistible Blossom Crush, Clean Ultimate Beach Night, Coach Floral Eau de Parfum
Spring is now in full swing and with summer not too far away, I thought now would be the perfect time to take a look at some new and upcoming fragrances that will make the perfect companion for the warmer weather ahead. Instead of doing individual reviews, I have today a quick and concise guide to five new fragrances from Guerlain, Givenchy, Clean, and Coach. To learn a bit about them all, click......

As its name suggests, Mon Guerlain Florale is a light, floral take on the original Mon Guerlain. Opening on a light, citrus accord, the fragrance quickly reveals its vanilla floral heart accentuated with a healthy dose of lavender. I found the original a bit too heavy and gourmand for my taste but this one strikes just the right balance of sweet vanilla and sensuous florals. Admittedly, there is a plethora of sweet vanilla floral fragrances on the market but something about the combination of peony, jasmine, and iris makes this one very unique. If you want a feminine summer fragrance that still retains an air of high-end sophistication, then this is the one to try.

Top Notes: Lavender, bergamot, lemon, mandarin orange.
Heart Notes: Sambac jasmine, peony, ylang-ylang, neroli, lily of the valley, peach, Paradisone floral notes
Base Notes: Vanilla, iris, sandalwood
Guerlain | Mon Guerlain Florale Eau de Parfum
Givenchy | Live Irrésistible Blossom Crush Eau de Toilette ($113 CAD for 75ml):
Described as a spontaneous and charming spring and summer fragrance, Live Irrésistable Blossom Crush contrasts the sweetness of peony and the bittersweetness of chocolate. I didn't really know what to expect as the scent profile is pretty unique and upon first sniff, I found it a bit astringent and strange. However, after giving it five or so minutes to develop on the skin, the fragrance became very pleasing. Because it has fewer notes, the scent is more pure and simple but the combination of peony and cocoa is very harmonious. It doesn't give off a distinct "chocolate" smell but there's an underlying gourmand feel that perfectly offsets the floral. I do feel, however, that the cocoa fades too quickly, leaving behind a one-dimensional floral accord. Overall, this is a nice one to check out if you like a sweet and light floral gourmand.

Top Note: Peony
Heart Note: Rose
Base Notes: Cocoa bean, musk
Givenchy | Live Irresistible Blossom Crush & Dahlia Divin Eau Initiale
Givenchy | Dahlia Divin Eau Initiale Eau de Toilette ($113 CAD for 75ml):
A new addition to the Givenchy Dahlia Divin family (see Dahlia Divin Nude and Dahlia Divin Le Nectar), Dahlia Divin Eau Initiale is a floral woody musk inspired by the idea of a modern goddess that exudes warmth and sensuality. The fragrance opens on a fresh splash of bergamot and quickly mellows to reveal a sweet floral center. The magnolia and jasmine are prominently featured but the scent still retains a warm and inviting citrus undertone. The wear and sillage are a bit weak but the scent is definitely a crowd-pleaser.

Top Notes: Bergamot, petitgrain, blood orange
Heart Notes: Jasmine, magnolia, lotus
Base Notes: Sandalwood, cedar musk
Clean | Ultimate Beach Night Eau de Toilette: Review
Clean | Ultimate Beach Night Eau de Toilette
Clean | Ultimate Beach Night Eau de Toilette ($74 CAD for 60ml):
With the huge success of last summer's Ultimate Beach Day, Clean has a new fragrance called Ultimate Beach Night. Instead of the warm, soapy, sea salt-tinged floral profile of the day edition, this one evokes the feeling of sitting around a warm bonfire on a cool summer night. The fragrance opens with a smoky driftwood smell and quickly develops to reveal a softer, citrus-floral accord. I think the original is still the more unique of the two but this definitely stands on its own as a memorable summer night scent.

Top Notes: Bergamot, lemon, orange, ocean mist
Heart Notes: Jasmine, tuberose, lilac, lavender, neroli, violet leaf, bougainvillea
Base Notes:  Ambergris, musk, smoky driftwood
Coach | Coach Floral Eau de Parfum: Review
Coach | Coach Floral Eau de Parfum
Coach | Coach Floral Eau de Parfum ($92 CAD for 50ml | $118 CAD for 90ml):
Described as a feminine fragrance inspired by the signature Coach tea rose, Coach Floral Eau de Parfum is a gorgeous fresh floral boasting notes of pineapple, gardenia, and jasmine. The sweet and mouthwatering accord screams summer but the scent is not overly citrusy or tropical. Although it doesn't share too many notes with the My Burberry Blush fragrance from last summer (one of my all-time favorites), Coach Floral has a very similar feel. If you love a cool and fresh fruity-floral, then this is absolutely worth checking out! Plus, how adorable is that bottle?!?

Top Notes: Pineapple, citrus, pink peppercorn
Heart Notes: Rose tea, sambac jasmine, gardenia
Base Notes: Musk, wood, patchouli
