Lancôme | Idôle Eau de Parfum: Review
If you haven't already heard, Lancôme has a big fragrance launch for Fall 2019 called Idôle Eau de Parfum ($126 CAD for 50 ml). With singer-actress Zendaya as the face of the fragrance, Idôle is the embodiment of the modern woman. Created in collaboration by three female perfumers (Shyamala Maisondieu, Adriana Medina, and Nadège Le Garlantezec), the scent is described as a sophisticated floral. The Bottle:
Reportedly the world's thinnest perfume bottle, Idôle Eau de Parfum comes in a rectangular (or a square for the 25 ml version) clear glass flask adorned with a shiny rose gold frame. The center of the bottle has a shallow circular depression and the fragrance is tinted a light shade of peachy pink. Because of its unique shape, Idôle is intended to be stored laying flat. It technically can stand on its own but will fall easily due to the skinny base. The bottle design is very unique and elegant but it's definitely not practical as storing on its side takes up a lot of space on your vanity.

The Scent:
Opening on a fresh and mouthwatering fruity accord of citrus and pear, Lancôme Idôle is a very classic feminine floral with rich notes of sustainably sourced rose and jasmine. After a couple hours of dry down, there's an introduction of warm musk and vanilla but the floral notes remain potent. Idôle has a good sillage and longevity but I can't help but feel that the fragrance lacks originality. With such a unique bottle and inspirational spokesperson/ad campaign that boast female empowerment, the scent feels rather generic. There's nothing offensive about the scent, but I just expected something more innovative. So the bottom line is, if you are looking for a unique bottle and are a fan of sweet florals, then the Lancôme Idôle is worth a try.

Top Notes: Bergamot, pear.
Heart Notes: Rose, jasmine.
Base Notes: Vanilla, white musk.
