Packaging:

The Pixi LipTone comes in a simple, slim, squeezable plastic tube with a slanted applicator. The packaging isn’t anything extraordinary, but given the price point, it gets the job done.

Formulation:

The Pixi LipTone is a tinted lip balm, lip gloss hybrid formulated with pH-adjusting pigments that turn pink upon contact with the lips. Available in six shades, with three without shimmer and three with shimmer, the Pixi LipTone contains nourishing ingredients like rosehip oil, shea butter, and mango butter. With a very light citrus scent, the formulation feels cushioning and hydrating on the lips. The finish is softly shiny and non-sticky. The shades range from completely clear to slightly tinted bases, but all of them transform into a soft, bright pink once blended onto the lips, thanks to the pH-reactive pigment (Red 27, also known as eosin). Even after the shine fades, the formulation leaves behind a subtle pink stain. Some shades (e.g., Naturalness, Peachyness) start off with a tint of color (e.g., beige, coral) at first, but they are ultimately overpowered by the pH-adjusting pink. Overall, if you enjoy pH-reactive lip products like the Dior Lip Glow, you will likely enjoy the Pixi LipTone as well.

SnowPearl: A shimmering, cool-tone pearl with a clear base that turns pink after adjusting to the lip's pH.

GoldGleam: This is a warm golden shimmer with a clear base that turns pink.

PinkPatina: A soft, cool-tone, pink shimmer with pH-activated clear base that turns pink.

Prettiness: Pretty clear gloss that turns pink upon application.

Naturalness: This is a soft beige that turns pink upon application.

Peachyness: A soft, coral with a strong pink tint.

*Please note that because I swatched these lip colors consecutively, the shades swatched later may appear brighter than they actually are, as the staining effect is cumulative. As a result, some of the colors in my swatches are not as bright as they may seem.
