Make Up For Ever Midnight Glow Gun Metal Glitter: Review and Swatches

Disclaimer: The product featured was provided for review.
Hey everyone, happy Monday! I hope you are all doing well. Today I have a super fun and glamorous product from Make Up For Ever's Holiday Midnight Glow Collection to show you. The "Gun Metal" Glitter ($20CAD) is a versatile round fine glitter in a purplish dark gray color. Make Up For Ever suggests that this product can be used on the face, the body, or even the lips. I also found that the glitter works great on the nails to create a textured glitter look. To see more images and how I used it on the nails, click......
The glitter comes in a sifter jar, which gets a tad messy when you open it, so it's important to have a piece of paper under it to catch the fallouts. For the manicure, I simply painted on a thickish layer of black nail polish (I used Hassid from American Apparel). Before the polish is dry, I directly poured the glitter over the wet polish and then tapped off the extra.
After the polish dried, I took a fluffy makeup brush to brush off the excess glitter, which I poured back to the jar for future usage.
I then chose to top the glitter off with a couple layers of a topcoat to smooth it out a little, but if you like the textured feel of glitter, then you can totally leave it as is. I used two coats of Glitter Slayer from Carpe Noctem.
So there you have it, Make Up For Ever Glitter used on the nails. I personally really like the effect it brings. The glitter is no doubt of superior quality compared to traditional craft glitter or nail glitter; however, the high price is still a bit unjustified in my opinion.
The glitter also comes in several other colors so if you have the budget for some high quality glitter, whether to use on your face, body, or nails, then check them out here!
Do you like using loose glitter? Let me know in the comments below, thanks for reading!
