Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Lipstick My Dear Matte Collection: Review and Swatches
Fall or winter is a great time to rock a bold matte lip and Shu Uemura has released a new limited edition lipstick collection to help you achieve that. The My Dear Matte Rouge Unlimited Lipstick Collection ($36 CAD each) features six vibrant matte lip colors with a melty soft and buildable formulation. To see some swatches of a few shades, click.......
Packaging:
The Rouge Unlimited Lipsticks come in a silver aluminium bullet with a transparent plastic covering and cap. The tip of the cap is round and curved, which magnifies the lipstick color at the tip of the packaging, which I find pretty neat.

Formulation:
The My Dear Matte Rouge Limited lipsticks have a incredibly smooth and creamy formulation. Matte lipsticks tend to have a slightly dry and silicone-y texture but these ones actually had a cohesive and soft formulation that didn't accentuate fine lines or dry lips.
The pigmentation isn't crazy intense as one might expect. Rather, these are semi-sheer but quite buildable. So if you prefer a sheer wash of color, then one swipe will give you just a tint. But if you want something bold and intense, use a few coats and voila!
Alluring Fuschia: A bright blue pink with subtle violet sparkles.
Diva Red: A simple bright red with a very slight orange tint.
Pure Coral: A soft pink with a hint of warm coral.

Overall:
What a beautiful trio of matte lipsticks (there are three more shades available). The formulation is probably the best I've tried for matte lipsticks; they are surprisingly creamy and the pigmentation is semi-sheer but buildable. My favorite of the three are definitely Pure Coral and Red Diva. I like Alluring Fuschia quite a bit as well but I wish it didn't have any sparkles.
