I've heard nothing but rave reviews about the Jack Black Moisture Therapy SPF 25 Lip Balms ($9 CAD) but because I've never been a fan of liquid lip balms, I held off on giving one a try. A month or so ago, though, I finally started using the "Black Tea" flavored balm and I've been loving it a lot. Today I'm sharing my thoughts on the formulation. To read on, click.......

Packaging:
The Jack Black lip balm comes in a simple squeeze tube with a slanted tip applicator. The opening can get pretty gunky but I guess the squeeze tube is the best packaging format for the formulation.
Jack Black Moisture Therapy Lip Balm SPF in "Black Tea"
Made mainly with petrolatum, lanolin (wool wax), cocoa butter, and beeswax, this Jack Black lip balm is also infused with shea butter, avocado oil, and tea extract. I'm usually not a fan of petroleum jelly-based balms because I find them too sticky and heavy. The Jack Black balm indeed has a rather thick and heavy texture so it took some time to get used to. However, after just one overnight use, I was very impressed with the result. My lips felt completely smooth and hydrated in the morning and there was still a lot of moisture from the balm left on the lips. The Black Tea flavor doesn't really have a flavor or a taste so it's a good one to go for if you don't like scents or flavors.
Although the added SPF 25 is great for daytime wear, I would not use this lip balm if I were planning on wearing a lipstick because the rich formulation interferes with the wear of the lip color. So all in all, this is a great night time lip balm for me. The texture is a bit heavy but it gives the lips great conditioning and moisturization.
