Guerlain | Meteorites Le Parfum Eau de Toilette: Review
If you've ever picked up a jar of the iconic Guerlain Meteorite Pearls (reviewed here), then you'd know that aside from its utterly precious packaging and design, the pearls are infused with the most intoxicating floral fragrance. I've remarked many times how I wished that Guerlain would release a perfume that's scented like the pearls and my prayers may finally be answered! Housed in the most adorable bottle reminiscent of a single pearl, the new Meteorite Le Parfume Eau de Toilette ($92 CAD for 100 ml) aims to capture the essence of the Meteorite Pearls. So does the perfume smell just like the pearls? Read my review to find out......

The Bottle:
Housed in an adorable round bottle identical in shape to that of the Guerlain Terracotta Le Parfum, Meteorites Le Parfum is adorned with a textured paper label printed with the iconic Meteorites pearls embossed with delicate silver detailing. The pink-colored cap matches the tinted perfume inside but it's interesting to note that the cap is made partly with wood that's painted with a pale shimmery pink. It's a slightly strange pairing as the natural wooden texture (which is difficult to capture in the photographs) feels a little out of place with such a sleek and delicate bottle. Nevertheless, the overall design is befitting of the whimsical and feminine Meteorites aesthetics.

The Scent:
Guerlain's master perfumer Thierry Wasser set out to capture the iconic violet fragrance of the Meteorites Pearls with this fragrance and he has definitely succeeded. Opening on an ephemeral whiff of crisp apple, Meteorites Le Parfum quickly takes on the familiar and beloved fragrance that's pretty much identical to that of the Guerlain Meteorites Pearls. With a prominent violet note complemented by a fresh green accord, the scent is cool but not severe and as it wears on, the warm musk and wood take on a stronger presence. The fragrance loses a bit of the "Meteorite" quality after a few hours as the violet fades but it still remains very feminine and pleasant.

Top Notes: Bergamot, Apple, Green Notes
Heart Notes: Rose, Violet
Base Notes: White Musk, Woody Notes

If you are like me and have always been obsessed with the smell of the Meteorites Pearls, then this fragrance is a must-have! I'm so glad that Guerlain has perfectly captured the essence of the scent and distilled it in such a cute presentation. Have you ever smelled the Meteorites Pearls? Are you a fan of the scent?
