innisfree | UV Active Poreless Sunscreen SPF50+ PA++++: Review
Earlier this year when I visited Korea, I made a trip to the innisfree Jeju House, the obligatory tourist stop for any beauty lover visiting Jeju Island. While I was there, I took advantage of the promotions and picked up a few sunscreens, given my love for Korean sunscreens. One of the sunscreens I purchased was the innisfree UV Active Poreless Sunscreen SPF50+ PA++++ (~C$25 for 50 ml). I was a bit rushed during my visit, so I did not get the chance to research the product thoroughly beforehand. It was only after I tried it for the first time that I realized it was a mineral sunscreen. Still, I decided to give it a fair shot, and today I am sharing my review to help you decide whether this might be the right sunscreen for you...

Packaged in a simple squeeze tube, the innisfree UV Active Poreless Sunscreen SPF50+ PA++++ is a mineral (physical) sunscreen made with zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, and iron oxides. It is also infused with hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, and botanical extracts from red chokeberry, mandarin peel, water lily flower, chickweed, and hinoki cypress leaf for added skincare benefits. The sunscreen has a fairly viscous lotion consistency and a subtle light beige tint that offers no real coverage but does provide a slight smoothing effect. Because of its thicker consistency, the formulation takes a bit more effort to blend, although I've not noticed any streaking or patching. The finish is natural and non-greasy, but I found it noticeably "heavier" than the chemical sunscreens I typically use, most likely due to the mineral filters and silicones in the formulation.

One major downside of the innisfree UV Active Poreless Sunscreen SPF50+ PA++++ is how difficult it is to remove. Unless you double cleanse very thoroughly, it leaves behind a stubborn, almost waterproof film residue on the skin. Overall, I am not a fan. Although this is one of the better mineral sunscreens I have tried, especially compared to the many on the North American market, I will be sticking to chemical sunscreens with a more elegant and comfortable finish.
