MAC Prep + Prime Natural Radiance: Review and Swatches

A while back during the launch of MAC's Archie's Girl Collection, I, along with Angela, went to the MAC Pro store located in downtown Vancouver to get a mini makeover. The lovely makeup artist used the MAC Prep+Prime Natural Radiance primer on me after I complained about getting dry flaky skin around the jawline during the winter months. I liked it quite a bit and decided to splurge $48 CAD on this. For a detailed review, click.......

It has a pump dispenser, which I strongly approve.
This is not your typical foundation primer, which often feels mask-y and silicone-y (Benefit Porefessional, in opinion). This literally feels like a face cream you would put on every night before bed. It feels so light and cooling when applied, and keeps the skin hydrated and in my case, from becoming excessively flaky.
Now I actually did not notice that this product had micro-shimmer (see swatches below) in it until one day it was sunny in Vancouver ( 0_0 I know!). I was doing my makeup by the window and after putting this on before foundation, I noticed that my skin was glimmering in the sun! Because I have combination skin, the glimmering effect is really not what I want, but I found a way of working around it.
I only apply this to areas of my face that needs the hydration and smoothing, so not my T-zone, which keeps itself pretty "hydrated" every second of the day.
Overall, I do not regret purchasing this product, it is a really good primer that prevents foundation from settling into the unevenness of the skin and keeps the face looking fresh and dewy. But what I like the most is how nice it feels on the skin when applied!
