Recently, Annabelle introduced Shanae Grimes (Annie from the newer 90210 TV show) as their brand ambassador, so that's quite exciting. And for the spring season they released some new lip and eye products, so feel free to check them out here.
Now moving on to the products......
Eyeshadow Quad in "Haute Mer" ($10.95):
Back in December I reviewed the Annabelle Eyeshadow Quad in "Chai Chai Chai" and was totally blown away by the formulation of all the shadows; therefore my expectation for "Haute Mer" was very high. Unfortunately, "Haute Mer" was a bit disappointing. The pigmentation and formulation of this quad isn't bad but it didn't wow. The blue and white shadow was a tad chalky and didn't apply very well but the taupe and the grey had decent formulation and provided a very natural look. The blue and the white probably would work better if applied over a shadow base but on their own they were just so-so.Smoothie Eyeshadow Pencil in "Blubomb" ($8.95):
This eyeshadow pencil was a gorgeous shade of blue with a satiny shimmery finish. When swatched on the arm it applied nice and smoothly; however, when applied on the lid it is hard to get an even application, the color ended up quite patchy. The bigger problem, though, was not the application but the lasting power. Within a couple of hours of application, "Blubomb" creased and faded when worn on its own. I feel like applying this over a primer and patting it down with some powdered eyeshadow would extend its wear but given that it is an eyeshadow pencil, it should be able to stand on its own.
So overall, these couple of products were a bit of a dud for me but Annabelle does have lots of other good products that redeems itself, check out my other reviews of Annabelle products here. Have a good day!
