ANUA | Niacinamide10% + TXA 4% Serum: Review
With its extensive range of skincare products, ANUA is fast becoming one of the most popular Korean skincare brands on the North American market. I recently reviewed the brand’s PDRN Hyaluronic Acid 100 Moisturizing Cream, and today I’m back with a review of the Niacinamide 10% + TXA 4% Serum ($25 for 30 ml). Designed to brighten the complexion and fade dark spots, this serum is formulated with a powerhouse blend of ingredients. To read all about it, click.......

Packaged in a glass bottle with a dropper dispenser, the Niacinamide 10% + TXA 4% Serum is formulated with niacinamide, tranexamic acid (TXA), alpha-arbutin, and vitamin C to brighten the complexion and reduce the appearance of dark spots. It also contains hyaluronic acid, ceramide, cica extract, and macadamia oil. The serum has a very runny, lightweight consistency and a light red tint due to the inclusion of vitamin B12. The fragrance-free formulation spreads easily across the skin, and absorbs quickly without leaving any residue. Because the formulation is quite thin, it does not provide much hydration on its own so it needs be followed with a good moisturizer.

ANUA | Niacinamide10% + TXA 4% Serum
I've never used tranexamic acid (TXA) but its combination with 10% niacinamide has proven to be a touch drying. This may be partly due to the winter season, but I did experience some mild peeling around the mouth and jaw area. For this reason, I would recommend introducing this serum gradually, especially if you have sensitive skin. Overall, I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this product. I’ve grown quite accustomed to, and satisfied with, using vitamin C, retinols, and AHAs for brightening and reducing dark spots, so I’m not certain I’m in the market for a new brightening ingredient combination—especially one that takes some getting used to. That said, if you struggle with dark spots and haven’t yet found something truly effective, this serum may be worth trying.
