Maybelline The Buffs Lipsticks by Color Sensational in "Untainted Spice", "Stormy Sahara" & "Truffle Tease": Review and Swatches

Disclaimer: Products featured are provided for review.
Maybelline recently released a line of eight nude lipsticks ($9.99 each) called The Buffs by Color Sensational and today I have three lovely shades from the collection. If you are a fan of neutral and nude lips, check out my swatches and reviews of "Untainted Spice", "Stormy Sahara", and "Truffle Tease" by clicking......

Formulation & Application:
All three lipsticks have a very rich and creamy texture, they glide on quite nicely and despite being nudes, they were all very pigmented. I found the formulation to be quite moisturizing and they are very comfortable and cushion-y on the lips.

Color & Pigmentation:
Untainted Spice- This one was a surprisingly rich warm brown, for some reason, the color was a lot darker on the lips than in it appeared in the tube. I find the color kind of hard to pull off but I think those with deeper skintones will really enjoy it. The pigmentation was very good.

Stormy Sahara- This one is a lovely warm peachy nude and definitely my favorite of the three. Though the color is technically a nude, it is still very easy to pull off! Again, very rich pigmentation for a nude and surprisingly the color didn't emphasize the wrinkles on my lips as much as I expected!

Truffle Tease- This last one is what I would call a true nude. Truffle Tease has a cool tone beige color. This was not very flattering on me because it came off kind of gray. But I imagine it could work for someone with light skin and cool undertones. Also, I noticed that because the color is very light (though very pigmented), my true lip color kind of still peaked through near the edges of my lips so a nude lip liner should probably be used with this.
Here are the three colors swatched on my arms for comparison, as you can see, the pigmentation of all three are very rich and opaque!

Longevity:
In terms of wear, these fare like your average lipsticks (four to five hours, depending on how much eating and drink you do). The lighter shades do fade fasters though because they don't stain the lips as much.

Overall:
I was very impressed with these because nude lipstick formulations can often be problematic in that they are either too sheer or emphasize the dryness and wrinkles a lot. However, the Maybelline The Buffs by Color Sensational were pigmented and moisturizing. The line also features five more shades, there is one called "Maple Kiss" that I would love to try!

Are you a fan of nude lips? Which of the three is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below, have a nice day!
