Happy Tuesday everyone, today I am back with another mascara review! L'Oreal has just released a new line of mascaras inspired by the Japanese kawaii trend. Formulated with collagen spheres and lengthening polymers, the Miss Manga Mascara ($10.99) promises an "innocently flirty, wide-eyed look". To read more about these mascaras and see if they really do give "mega-sized lashes", click.......
Packaging:
The Miss Manga Mascaras come in a sleek pink and black mascara tube with the Miss Manga logo printed in color corresponding to the color of the mascara. There are three permanent shades- Black, Blackest Black, and Brown Black. There are also three limited edition shades (available until August 2014)- Purple, Turquoise, and Electric Blue.
The 360 degree flexor wand is made to be very bendy and flexible, not something I particularly look for in a mascara but the cone shaped bristle design works perfectly at coating the inner and outer lashes. So even if you have tiny lashes like me, you can still coat them nicely and smoothly.

Formulation & Result:
Miss Manga Mascara in "Black":
The formulation of this is on the wetter, less viscous side. The mascara worked really well to separate and lengthen the lashes but it didn't give a lot of volume. Also, the wetter formulation doesn't hold curls very well so if you have short straight lashes like me, be sure to apply sparingly (no more than two coats) to avoid weighing them down.
The formulation is clump free and I experienced no smudging or flaking. It also comes off fairly easily with just water and ordinary face wash.

Miss Manga Mascara in "Turquoise":
The formulation of this bright blue version of Miss Manga is quite similar to the black. The color showed up pretty well on my lashes but I did find this one to be a bit clumpy.
However, blue mascaras are really "just for fun" so I really don't expect it to give incredible length or volume.

Overall:
The Miss Manga Mascara in "Black" is a very nice and lengthening mascara that provides a rather natural look. It works great at separating the lashes but the formulation is a bit wet so it will weigh down those with short/straight lashes curled with a lash curler. The "Turquoise" mascara, though a bit clumpy, gives the lashes a noticeable pop of color so it's definitely a fun addition to your collection.

Availability:
The L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascaras are available as of June 2014. The colors Black, Blackest Black, and Brown Black are part of the permanent collection. The colors Purple, Turquoise, and Electric Blue are available only until August, 2014.
