Mary Kay Spring 2015 Paradise Calling Collection: Review and Swatches
Although Spring has not yet sprung, but Mary Kay's Spring 2015 Collection will bring a little bit of warmth to your day. Inspired by warm and tropical vacation destinations, the new Paradise Calling Collection (available February 16th) features rich hues of orchid and mandarin. To see some swatches, click......
Lacquered Lip Shine ($19 CAD each):
These are gorgeous high shine lip glosses with a moisturizing formulation. They come in plain tubes with a tapered doe-foot applicator that provides precise application.
Tropical Mandarin: This is a rich warm orange red. The pigmentation is phenomenal and the formulation is not at all sticky! This lightweight shade has an almost gel-like finish.
Sun Baked: This is a sheer beige nude with no shimmers. The formulation of this one is unlike Tropical Mandarin as it is quite sticky and thick.
Exotic Orchid: This is a bright orchid with an impressive coverage. The color is very summery and like Sun Baked, it is a bit sticky.

Moisturizing Spray Lotion ($18 CAD):
A convenient body milk that dispenses as a fine mist, this lightweight lotion has a coconut-y tropical scent. The mist diameter is quite wide, making it a bit hard to apply directly onto the arms or legs without getting the mist onto other surfaces of the room. Other than that, I love how quickly it absorbs, providing the skin with a light moisturization.

Whipped Eye Color ($18 CAD each):
These lightweight and airy cream shadows have a rather thin formulation that feels like pigments suspended in a dry oil. Both shades are sheer and I found the longevity a bit weak as they faded with time.
Seafoam: This is a pale green shimmer. The shade is very sheer and requires several layers to show up nicely.
Tiki Hut: This is a pretty shimmery brown. The pigmentation is slightly better compared to Seafoam but the wear is still not great.

Nail Lacquer ($10 each):
Exotic Orchid: This is a bright purple creme. The pigmentation is not as rich as I had expected but the formulation is easy to work with. I used two coats for the swatches below.

Exotic Orchid, two coats with no top coat
Lagoon: A smoky dark blue green creme, this shade is super pigmented, almost a one coater. Do beware though, this one will stain so prep the nails with a good base coat.

Lagoon, one coat on some nails and two on others
Tropical Mandarin: A super saturated orange red creme, Tropical Mandarin is a simple one coater. The color is rich and it dries in a flash, definitely a gem!

Overall:
What a gorgeous and vibrant collection! My recommendations are the Lacquered Lip Shine in "Tropical Mandarin" and the nail polish in "Tropical Mandarin" and "Lagoon", they are great shades for when the weather gets warmer.
