YSL Pop Water Glossy Stains
Hi everyone, hope your Saturday is going well! Today I have a lip swatch post to share with you featuring the new Yves Saint Laurent Vernis A Levres Pop Water Glossy Stain ($38 CAD). Like the original Glossy Stains, the Water Pop Glossy Stain features the same glossy yet non-sticky formulation, but with an added 10-hour hydration boost. The new Pop Water Glossy Stain range includes eight gorgeous summer-ready shades and today I have a few to share with you. To see some swatches, click......

Packaging:
The Pop Water Glossy Stains come in the same luxurious lacquered black and gold rectangular tubes as the original Glossy Stains. The only difference is that the YSL logos on the cap of these are black instead of red. The Glossy Stain doe-foot applicator is wide and flat with a tapered point that allows precise application.

Formulation:
If you've tried the original Glossy Stains, you probably won't find these very different. The stain/gloss hybrids have a silky, non-sticky, and lightweight formulation that gives the lips a wet feeling. The pigmentation for all the shades is pretty decent. The darker shades leave behind a more noticeable and longer- lasting stain. For best results, apply in thin layers on bare lips. Don't wait too long between each layer or the application will be uneven.
Although these Pop Water Glossy Stains are supposedly more moisturizing, I am not sure I can tell the difference as I find the original stains pretty hydrating.

201 Dewy Red: Super pigmented medium red with strong pink undertones, no shimmers.
203 Eay de Corail: Very soft pink coral, no shimmers.
204 Onde Rose: Lovely light rose, no shimmers.
206 Misty Pink: Cool tone medium pink, very pigmented with no shimmers.
202 Rouge Splash: Very wearable orange red, no shimmers.

Here is a swatch collage so you can see how the five shades compare. As you know, I tend to gravitate towards the bolder shades but I am actually really in love with all the shades here!

Overall:
I can't say enough good things about the YSL Glossy Stains. As you are probably aware, there are tons of dupes on the market for these stains but I honestly think that the YSL formulation trumps all the rest. Something about that wet sheen and lightweight formulation makes them so covetable.

Availability:
The new Pop Water Glossy Stains are available online and in stores at Sephora, The Bay, and Holt Renfrew.
