Packaging:
The Velvet Shadow Sticks come in simple but beautiful twist-up crayons. The packaging has a matte black finish and the bottoms of the sticks are colored to show the shades inside.

NARS Velvet Shadow Sticks
Formulation:
Incredibly pigmented, rich, and creamy, the NARS Velvet Shadow Sticks features an incredibly long-lasting formulation. "Aigle Noir" is a beautiful dark mossy green with sparkly green shimmers.
"Goddess" is a peach champagne shimmer and "Reykjavik" is a matte gray-black.
In terms of application, "Goddess" is easy to blend while "Reykjavik" and "Aigle Noir" sets quite quickly so they are a bit hard to blend.

Below is a look I did with all three shades. As you can see, because of their tackier and thicker texture, the darker shades don't blend as nicely as the champagne shimmer, so I end up with a bit of uneven patchiness.

Overall:
These are some gorgeous eyeshadow sticks. The pigmentation is top-notch but the darker shades are a bit tricky to blend. The wear is incredible and virtually smudge-proof while the formulation adheres really well onto the skin so I can see this working very well as a shadow base.

Availability:
NARS is available online and in stores at Sephora, online at NARS, and in stores at Murale, Nordstrom, The Bay, and Holt Renfrew.
