Montblanc Legend Spirit Eau de Toilette: Review

For summer 2016, Montblanc has a new spin on its original Legend fragrance for men. The new Montblanc Legend Spirit Eau de Toilette ($69 CAD for 50ml | $89 CAD for 100ml) boasts a casual and modern expression of masculinity. I always love trying men's fragrances to see how they compare with perfumes for women so this was an exciting product for me. To read all about this scent, click.......

Packaging:
The new Legend Spirit comes in a very unique, flask-like bottle. The glass bottle has a white ceramic finish and the top is fitted with a shiny silver rim. I really like the simple design of the bottle; it feels very masculine but it's also unique, unlike the traditional rectangular cologne bottles.

The Scent:
I haven't reviewed as many fragrances for men but out of all the colognes I've smelled in the past, this by far feels the most masculine! Montblanc Legend Spirit opens with a pretty sharp citrus blend that fades with time. Within half an hour or so the warm moss and musk notes permeate the skin, although the cool water accords still linger. I can also detect the rich and spicy cardamom, which brings even more warmth to the base notes.

Top Notes: Bergamot, pink pepper, grapefruit
Heart Notes: Cardamom, lavender, ozonic (aquatic) accords
Base Notes: Oak moss, white musk, cashmere

This is a bold scent; the sillage is very strong, a couple of spritz is easily enough for the whole body. Legend Sprit is very long-lasting as well, which I really appreciate in a fragrance. It's hard for me to say exactly why this scent smells so masculine because the combination of the notes can be found in feminine fragrances as well. However, something about it just feels so strong and wonderfully manly!
