Clarins Spring 2017 Makeup Collection: Review and Swatches
Although spring is nowhere near, we can still revel in the slew of Spring 2017 collections that help remind us that there is an end to this dreadful winter weather. So today I want to share with you a couple of items from the upcoming Clarins Spring 2017 Collection. To see some swatches and read my review of the Face Contouring Palette ($49 CAD) and the new 4-Color Eyeshadow Palette ($45 CAD), click.......
Clarins 4 Color Eyeshadow Palette 05 Smokey Swatches Review
Clarins 4-Color Eyeshadow Palette in "05 Smokey"
4-Color Eyeshadow Palette in "05 Smokey" ($45 CAD):
Clarins eyeshadow palettes have always been a hit and the new "05 Smokey" quad is not any different. Featuring a shimmery white pearl, a satin semi-sheer silver, a satin/shimmer gray, and a dark satin black, this palette has a very buttery and pigmented formulation. What I love the most is how nicely the colors all go together. Sometimes, eyeshadow palettes have that one or two odd colors that are just impossible to incorporate with the rest of the shades but all four shadows in this one blend together like a dream!

Clarins Face Contouring Palette ($49 CAD)
It seems that the whole contouring fad is coming to an end so it's a bit strange to me that Clarins is releasing a contouring palette for 2017. This three-in-one palette holds a creamy nude highlight, a warm bronze contour, and a sophisticated rose blush. The colors are housed in a beautiful shiny gold compact and included is a well-made, mini-sized contour brush.

All three shades have a satin matte finish and they are all very nicely pigmented and smooth. I find the highlight to be a bit too subtle for my skin tone. It barely shows up on my skin, working more like a setting powder than an actual highlight. The contour shade, on the other hand, is a bit too warm for my liking. Cool taupe contours better mimic natural shadows created by light while warmer contours like the one included look more like a summer bronzer. The blush, however, is right up my alley; it's shimmer-free, flattering, and perfect for everyday wear!
