Yadah Cosmetics Review & Swatches
Although I'm not the biggest Korean cosmetics fanatic, I am always intrigued by their exciting innovations and adorable packagings. So I was super excited when BB Cosmetics, a Korean makeup and skincare online retailer with free worldwide shipping, contacted me to review a few products from Yadah. With a youthful aesthetic and plant-derived ingredients, Yadah carries a wide range of both skincare and color cosmetics. Today I have a couple of foundations and a unique brow stain to share with you. To read on, click.......
Yadah x SONYUNARA All Day Cushion Foundation in "21 Light Beige"

Yadah x SONYUARA All Day Cushion Foundation in "21 Light Beige" ($18.48 USD BB Cosmetics | Amazon):
Created in collaboration with SOYUARA, a Korean clothing retailer catered towards teenage girls, this is a medium coverage SPF 50 cushion foundation housed in the cutest pink and white compact. Just like any cushion foundation, the liquid foundation is held within a porous cushion. To apply, simply press the included sponge puff into the cushion to pick up some product. I haven't tried a whole lot of cushion foundations before because I find the packaging to be a bit unsanitary. Nevertheless, I am still very impressed with the formulation of this one.

Formulated with lavender water, lichen extract, Japanese pepper extract, and calendula extract, the All Day Cushion has a thin and lightweight texture. The formulation is highly-blendable and semi-sheer but depending on how much you apply, you can build to a pretty good coverage. The foundation has a natural dewy finish but it's not at all greasy. I paired it with the Yadah Air Powder Pact (see below) and was very impressed with how the two held up.

My skin didn't get excessively shiny and my T-zone stayed relatively presentable. I experienced a bit of creasing around my nose area but it's not too bad. As a general tip, I would discourage applying liquid foundation on the nose if you have very oily skin. Just stick to a powder foundation as it will save you the headache of having liquid foundation turning greasy and patchy.
I'm not sure how many shades there are in total but it seems that the only shade available online is "21 Light Beige". It's a neutral to cool-tone light beige that lands somewhere between NW15 to NW20. Overall, I'd highly recommend this if you want a buildable and lightweight cushion foundation with a killer SPF protection!

Yadah Air Powder Pact in "No.21 Natural Beige" ($14.96 USD BB Cosmetics | Amazon):
A simple medium coverage powder foundation, the Yadah Air Powder Pact comes in a pearlescent white compact printed with a cute red-haired girl. There's a sizable mirror inside and the powder is covered with an extra plastic lid that also holds a sponge puff. I'm pretty accustomed to applying powders with a brush but I gave this puff a try. It gives a very blurring effect, providing a smoother and higher coverage than a powder brush.

The powder itself is very lovely as well. Finely-milled and velvety-soft, it provides a beautiful medium coverage. It also has an SPF of 35, which is a huge plus. Again, I'm not certain how many shades there are in total but the one I have here is "21 Natural Beige", which is a warm light-medium beige. It's quite a few shades darker than the cushion foundation, landing somewhere between an NC20 to an NC25. Lastly, the powder stays on very well and it does a great job at delaying shine.
Yadah Quick Tattoo Brow Gel in "03 Ash Brown"

Yadah Quick Tattoo Brow Gel + Brow Guide Set ($9.08 USD BB Cosmetics |Amazon):
Last but not least is a dark brow tint designed to mimic the appearance of full and bold brows. Housed in a simple tube with a small brush applicator, the gel-liquid stains the skin, not the actual brow hairs. To use, simply apply a generous layer over your pre-existing brows. This set comes with a few brow stencils to guide the application but I didn't like their shape so I free-handed. The stain will quickly set but it's recommended that you leave it on for an hour to achieve the optimal intensity and longevity. Realistically, though, the product can be removed after 15 minutes or so and it will leave behind a nice enough stain. To remove, simply use your fingernail and roll up a corner of the stain. The whole thing then lifts up all in one piece. The gel sets to a very flexible peelable layer so you don't have to worry about losing any brow hairs.

So how well did this thing actually work? Pretty darn good I'd say! As you can see in the swatches below, the gel leaves behind a strong but natural stain. If you like the realistic strokes a fine-tipped brow pencil creates, the solid stain patch the Quick Tattoo Brow Gel gives might be a bit too bold. However, the longevity is phenomenal in comparison to a brow pencil. The stain is completely waterproof and even if you use soap and a washcloth to vigorously wipe your brows, only a little bit will fade. Therefore, the color will last you about a day and a half, with regular face-washing.

Finally, I do have some critiques for the shade "03 Ash Brown", which is the darkest color Yadah carries. Having black hair, I found this shade to be very unnatural. The gel looks dark black but the stain it leaves behind is a dark brown with a very yellowish, ochre undertone. Unless you are into the K-pop look, this shade just doesn't really complement black hair. So hopefully in the future, Yadah will create a dark gray that looks more natural with black hair.
