Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour: Review and Swatches
The ever-growing market of liquid lipsticks is expanding yet again because Rimmel London has just dropped a new line of matte, kiss-proof liquid lip colors. Available in 14 unique shades, the Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour ($8.99 CAD) promises a bold color with just one stroke. So do these liquid lipsticks stand to their claim? Read my review and see some swatches to find out.....

Packaging:
The Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour comes in a clear plastic lip gloss tube with a frosted finish. The doe-foot applicator has a flattened paddle design that's tapered on both sides. It does a great job at evenly spreading the liquid lipstick.

Formulation:
This is a line of long-lasting liquid lipsticks with an airy, creamy texture. While the formulation is lightly fragranced, there is still a mild chemical smell. The colors apply pretty smoothly but the pigmentation definitely varies from shade to shade. The finish does take a couple of minutes to set so be mindful not to press or purse your lips before letting the color completely dry. In terms of wear, these liquid lipsticks are waterproof and smudge-proof. However, some of the shades do flake a bit with eating and drinking, so that's definitely a downside. Overall, this is an okay liquid lipstick range. The affordable price makes these an attractive alternative to non-drugstore brands but I think with the exception of a few shades, the formulation is just not quite there yet. See below for a full breakdown of all 14 shades.

100 Pink Bliss: This is a soft neutral pink. The formulation is quite pigmented and very creamy.
110 Blush: A pale cool-tone pink, this shade is slightly patchy. However, a second coating provides a mostly opaque finish.
200 Pink Blink: This is a neutral peachy pink. Again, the formulation is a bit sheer but since the color is similar to my natural lip color, any patchiness is not pronounced.
210 Rose & Shine: This is a gorgeous soft pink. The formulation is not super opaque but it one coat gave a nice enough coverage.
500 Fire Starter: Hands down the best out of the batch, this is a classic bold red with a rich and pigmented formulation. If you are a fan of red liquid lipsticks, this is a great drugstore option!
700 Be My Baby: This is a neutral peach beige. The formulation is sheer but buildable.
710 Latte To Go: A very pale sandy beige, this shade is sheer and streaky. I do not recommend it.
720 Moca: This is a light beige brown. Again, the formulation is sheer but buildable.

800 Midnight: This is a deep vampy plum. The formulation is extremely patchy and streaky. The color also doesn't build will so even when I try to apply a second coat, the finish appears uneven.
810 Plum This Show: This is a beautiful wine red. Unfortunately, the pigmentation is lacking, resulting in a patchy and uneven coverage.
820 Heartbeat: A pretty Barbie pink, this shade is decently pigmented and even.
830 Blue Iris: A deep indigo blue, this color is also a bit sheer but the color is buildable.
840 Pitch Black: For something called "Pitch Black", this color is disappointingly sheer. Even with two layers, there are noticeable patches and unevenness.
850 Shadow: A nice simple gray, this shade is surprisingly pigmented and creamy.
