Clé de Peau | Lip Glorifier Glow Revival Conditioning Balm: Review and Swatches
Just about every luxury makeup brand now offers its own tinted lip balm (ex. Dior Lip Glow, Givenchy Le Rouge Perfecto) and so back in Fall 2018, Clé de Peau created its own version called the Lip Glorifier Glow Revival Conditioning Balm ($65 CAD for 2.8 g). Formulated with shea butter and safflower oil, the balm promises a smoothing, hydrating wear and a light wash of color that adjusts according to the moisture level of your lips. Packaging:
The Clé de Peau Lip Glorifier comes in a beautiful baby pink lipstick tube finished with a pearlescent shimmer. The pink is nicely complemented by the pale gold details, from the shiny "CP" logo embossed on the side to the brushed metallic finish at the top of the cap. Packaging-wise, the Lip Glorifier is similar to the Lipstick Cashmeres from Clé de Peau, with the exception of a taller, slimmer profile. Lastly, the tube is nicely weighted for an extra touch of luxury.

Formulation:
With a lightweight and slick texture that glides smoothly over the lips, the Lip Glorifier is a sheer tinted balm that gives the lips a soft wash of pink. The formulation is immediately nourishing and hydrating but it's quick to fade with eating and drinking, leaving behind no discernable stain. There is no minty sensation so for those that don't like a tingling sensation, this is a great option. In comparison to the Dior Lip Glow, the Clé de Peau Lip Glorifier formulation is much lighter and completely non-tacky. However, it is a touch richer and more emollient than the Givenchy Le Rouge Perfecto. The pink tint is slightly weaker as compared to the Dior Lip Glow, but it's a bit more intense as compared to the Givenchy Le Rouge Perfecto.

Overall, this is a lovely tinted lip balm. I don't find the formulation significantly better than its two leading competitors but the packaging is definitely more classy, which is an impressive feat considering both the Dior Lip Glow and the Givenchy Le Rouge Perfecto feature some of the most iconic packagings on the market. In terms of price, Clé de Peau trumps both Dior and Givenchy ($65 versus $42 for the other two) so it really comes down to brand loyalty and prestige. At my current budget, I think I will just stick with the Dior Lip Glow but the Clé de Peau Lip Glorifier is a worthy investment if you have the money to spare.
