Lano | Lanolips The Original Lanostick, Lemonaid Scrubba-Balm & Lip Water: Review
Hailing all the way from Australia, Lano is a beauty company that focuses on the benefits lanolin. A natural wax found on the wool of sheep, lanolin is very similar to lipids in human skin, thereby acting as a breathable barrier that retains 400% of its weight in moisture. Now available in Canada online and in stores at Sephora, Lano offers lip and skincare products containing "Ultra-Medical Grade" lanolin and are 100% cruelty-free. I've got reviews of a few lip products from the brand to share with you today. To read on, click......
Lano | Lanolips The Original Lanostick: Review
Lano | Lanolips The Original Lanostick
Lano | Lanolips The Original Lanostick ($23 CAD for 3.3 g):
Formulated with lanolin, avocado oil, jojoba oil, shea butter, and mango butter, The Original Lanostick is a clear hydrating lip balm in a simple twist-up and retractable case. The formulation is on the heavier side when compared to beeswax balms but the finish is comfortable and non-sticky. Because of its thicker texture, the formulation clings better to the lips, which means that it will last longer. Depending on the level of hydration you prefer, this may very well work as a nighttime lip balm in addition to a day balm.

Ingredients: Lanolin, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Capryloyl Glycerin/Sebacic Acid Copolymer, Cera Alba (Beeswax), Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Jojoba Esters (Simmondsia Chinensis), Aroma (Natural Flavour), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Cera, Magnifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Cera, Tocopherol (Vitamin E).
Lano | Lanolips Lemonaid Scrubba-Balm: Review
Lano | Lanolips Lemonaid Scrubba-Balm
Lano | Lanolips Lemonaid Scrubba-Balm ($23 CAD for 3.3 g):
This is a lip scrub stick made with exfoliating particles of extra fine sugar and orange peel powder. With a rich lanolin-based formulation similar to that of The Original Lanostick, the Lemonaid Scrubba-Balm has a subtle citrus scent. I personally find the scrubbing particles too fine and gentle to actually tackle larger dry flake/patches but the product does soften and smooth the lips to a certain degree. I've tried a few scrubbing balms in the past and all of them completely melts to an ordinary balm that does not require removal. However, with the Lemonaid Scrubb-Balm, because of the orange peel powder used, there is a noticeable grainy, yellow residue that requires patting off.

Ingredients: Lanolin, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Capryloyl Glycerin/Sebacic Acid Copolymer, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Powder, Cera Alba (Beeswax), Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Aroma (Natural Flavour), Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla Wax) Cera, Jojoba Esters, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Sucrose, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba Wax) Cera, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Magnifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter, Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf Extract, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Citral, Limonene, Linalool.
Lano | Lanolips Lip Water: Review and Swatches
Lano | Lanolips Lip Water
Lano | Lanolips Lip Water ($23 CAD for 10 ml):
Described as a "hydration fluid for thirsty lips", the Lip Water is a wax-free, lanolin-based lip oil sprinkled with a dash of fine iridescent shimmer specks. Despite having a very viscous texture, the Lip Water goes on super slick and lightweight. There is zero tackiness and feels instantly hydrating. I personally really like the subtle sparkle the Lip Water offers but I don't like the fact that they aren't evenly dispersed in the tube. By the looks of it, the tube is first filled with the clear Lip Water, and then some shimmers are injected into the tube, resulting in half of the Lip Water remaining completely shimmer-free. I've tried mixing and shaking the tube as much as possible but the shimmers will not disperse. Unfortunately, the Lip Water is not very long-lasting. Because of it's fresh, water-like texture, it wears off within an hour or two. Therefore, the product only provides a short period of hydration. Additionally, if you are pairing the Lip Water with a stain or lipstick, the longevity of base will be compromised as the Lip Water makes the color more transferrable.

Ingredients: Lanolin Oil, Lanolin, Calcium Aluminium Borosilicate, Aroma, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycerin, Silica, Tin Oxide, Limonene, CI 77891.
