Isa Knox | Age Focus Prime Double Effect Essence

Housed in a tall plastic bottle with a small flat opening, the Isa Knox Age Focus Prime Double Effect is a hydrating essence that also preps the skin for the absorption of other skincare products. Formulated with anti-aging Prime Pro-Retinol (a gentle retinol precursor that's safe for both night and day use), supportive plant-derived DNA, and firming amino acid ornithine, the Age Focus Prime Double Effect Essence has a lightweight, slightly viscous liquid formulation that spreads nicely over the entire face without leaving behind any noticeable residue. Also formulated with yeast and bacteria ferment extract, turmeric root, carrot extract, vitamin B5, vitamin C, and vitamin E, the essence has a very subtle and refreshing fragrance.

I appreciate that the formulation doesn't contain any drying alcohol and the relatively light use of silicones. The Age Focus Prime Double Effect Essence feels super pleasant and hydrating and it doesn't add any weight or texture to the skin so you can layer generously with serums and cream. It definitely makes the skin feel smoother and softer, and it's not at all drying or sensitizing. If you are looking for a gentle starter retinol product, this is definitely a good start. Additionally, given how a little goes a long way, the 160 ml bottle will last you quite a long time, making it a good investment for the price!
