Schăf Skincare | Revitalizing Serum: Review
With its clean and minimalist packaging, the Revitalizing Serum (C$69 CAD for 30 ml) from Schăf Skincare immediately caught my eyes when I was going through the products Indigo sent me in promotion of their recently opened Vancouver Robson St Beauty & Wellness Shop. Founded by a Canadian couple who wanted to create clean and effective skincare for men and women, Schăf Skincare offers a line of simple and no-fuss products. A "powerhouse" multi-tasker, the Revitalizing Serum promises to hydrate, firm, and brighten all in one go. To read my thoughts on the formulation, click......

Schăf Skincare | Revitalizing Serum
Housed in a simple plastic bottle with an airless pump design, the Schăf Skincare Revitalizing Serum has a very simple formulation with the key ingredients being vitamin C (15%), hyaluronic acid (10%), niacinamide (8%), and peptides (8%). I got the percentage information from the brand website but I am bit confused by the order of the ingredient list, which does not match up with the percentage. For example, sodium hyaluronate is listed higher than vitamin C on the ingredient list but the brand claims that the formulation contains 10% hyaluronic acid and 15% vitamin C*. Nevertheless, it's safe to say that the Revitalizing Serum is packed with active ingredients. It's also worth noting that the serum is formulated without fragrances, essential oils, silicones, and a whole list of other potentially harmful ingredients (see here).

*Update*: I've been informed by Schăf that the percentage is a reflection of concentration while the ingredient list is ordered according to weight (from most to least).

With no discernable scent and a runny gel consistency, the Schăf Revitalizing Serum spreads very smoothly on the skin. The formulation takes a bit of time to "dry" down and it does leave a tacky residue. However, the serum is lightweight so it layers well with no patching or pilling. Overall, this is a really nice and simple all-in-one serum. I love the clean, no-fuss ingredient list but my only criticism would be the price point, which is just a tad steep in my opinion. Nevertheless, I am very intrigued by the brand and would love to discover a few more products from the range.
