Celimax | Ji Woo Gae Heartleaf BHA Peeling Pad: Review
During a visit to Costco in Seoul, I came across a twin jumbo pack of the Celimax Ji Woo Gae Heartleaf BHA Peeling Pad (~C$30 for 2 x 80 Pads). I had never heard of the brand before, but with such an incredible price and my undying love for BHA products, I decided to take a chance. Now that I am nearly through the first jar, I am happy to report that it was absolutely worth it. To read my full review of the Celimax Ji Woo Gae Heartleaf BHA Peeling Pad, click...

Packaged in a simple plastic tub with a twist-off lid, the Celimax Ji Woo Gae Heartleaf BHA Peeling Pad is one of Korea’s best-selling exfoliating toner pads, and for good reason. It is formulated with betaine salicylate, a gentler alternative to salicylic acid, making it a great option for those with sensitive skin. This mild BHA helps remove dead skin cells while also delivering a light boost of hydration. A key ingredient is heartleaf extract (Houttuynia Cordata), which is known for its calming and anti-inflammatory properties. It helps soothe irritation and supports a clearer, more balanced complexion.

What really stands out is the dual-sided pad design. One side is embossed and nicely cushioned to help evenly distribute the toner, while the gauze-textured side with its criss-cross design provides effective physical exfoliation. It works especially well on areas like the nose, chin, and forehead, where buildup and congestion are more common. I have been using these pads regularly since my trip to Korea in May, so it has been more than a month now. Honestly, my skin feels noticeably smoother and looks more radiant. The only drawback is that the formula can be a bit drying, so using it once a day at most is ideal, particularly for those with drier skin types. Overall, these are excellent BHA toner pads. If you have oily or combination skin and struggle with clogged pores or uneven texture, they are definitely worth trying.
