Born Pretty Store Sweet Color Flakie Nail Polish in #4: Review and Swatches

Disclaimer: Nail polish was provided for review.
Brace yourselves everyone, today I am reviewing a flakie from Born Pretty Store and y'all know how much I love flakies! So how does this one stand against all other flakies? Is it a dupe for "Shine of the Times" from Essie? Click "read more" to find out......
One coat of Sweet Color over black base.
Sweet Color Nail Polish in #4 ($11.79) is a orange/green flakie suspended in a sheer black polish. The polish also has a subtle sprinkle of magenta/grey flakies. I paired mine with a simple black cream called "Knockout" from Revlon.
Let me start by saying how gorgeous this flakie is. It is very very similar to "Shine of the Times" from Essie, but under brighter lighting you will notice that the Sweet Color Flakie also has some purple flakies that shift grey when you look at them from another angle. Also, the flakies are slightly smaller than Essie's. The flakies in these photographs kind of remind me of Christmas lights!
However, albeit very pretty, the polish has some formulation flaws. First of all, the polish smells very pungent and it is not indicated on the Born Pretty website whether or not it's 3-Free. I had to apply this on my balcony because the smell was hard to stand. Secondly, the drying time was longer than normal. After three hours, the polish still dented upon the slightest bump, which is quite unfortunate as the polish is so beautiful!
This polish sometimes goes on sale for $7.99 so if you have been looking for a flakie that ships free worldwide, you might want to give this a try, click the banner below and use the code VGL91 to receive 10% off your purchase.
Thanks for dropping by, come back soon for more manicure looks!
