Mary Kay Fall 2014 Limited Edition Midnight Jewels Collection: Review and Swatches

Hi everyone, hope you are having a good day so far! Today I have a sneak peek of Mary Kay's upcoming Fall 2014 Limited Edition Midnight Jewels Collection! Inspired by precious gemstones illuminated by the alluring moonlit sky at night, this collection features two shadow palettes, two lipsticks, three nail colors, and one lip gloss. Limited Edition Mary Kay Eye Color Palettes ($26 each, compact sold separately for $20):
The two shadow palettes each includes five super creamy and rich powder shadows. The formulation was so buttery I almost thought these were cream shadows!

This palette includes:
-Shimmery light brown champagne
-Matte soft brown

Limited Edition Mary Kay Semi-Matte Lipstick ($18 each):

The two lipsticks in this collection features a very modern matte finish with a long-lasting formulation. The lipsticks have a vanilla scent.

Ruby Night: Brownish brick red; the formulation is a bit dry but applies fairly smoothly. The color really clings to the lips so the wear is very good.

Pink Moonstone: This one is a very pale dusty pink. The formulation is again a bit dry to my liking and it didn't glide very smoothly on the lips. However, the wear is much better than your traditional creamy nudes.

Limited Edition Mary Kay Lip Shimmer in "Pearl Rose" ($18):
This one is a simple pale pink shimmer gloss. The pigmentation is fairly translucent but the gloss is packed with shimmers. The formulation is lightweight and non-sticky.

Limited Edition Mary Kay Nail Lacquer ($10 each):

Sapphire Noir: This one is a gorgeous dark blue with tiny specks of silver shimmer. The formulation is amazing, one coat and you are good to go! The finish of these polishes are suppose to be "satin", so it's not super glossy.

Pearl Rose: This one is a very classy sheer champagne shimmer. I used one coat and it gives the nails a very pretty sheen.

Night Diamond: This is a gorgeous dark charcoal filled with specks of silver and periwinkle shimmer. Definitely very unique and something I would actually expect from an indie polish brand. The formulation is creamy and smooth, I used two coats.

Overall:

I think this is such an amazing and well put-together collection! I found the lipsticks a bit drying but they are very long lasting. The lip gloss is a bit bland but the formulation is very lightweight. The polish colors are simply to die for and the shadow formulation is superb. So overall, two thumbs up for Mary Kay!
