Maybelline Dream Wonder Fluid Touch Foundation and Powder: Review and Swatches

Disclaimer: Products featured were provided for review.
Earlier in the year, Maybelline released the much-loved Dream Wonder Powder ($13.49 CAD), which gives the skin a super smooth and natural finish and now for Fall 2014, the Dream Wonder Powder has a liquid foundation counterpart! The Dream Wonder Fluid Touch Foundation ($14.99 CAD)!

Dream Wonder Fluid Foundation in "10 Porcelain Ivory":
What it is:
-Super lightweight liquid foundation
-Utilizes "skin-fusion" pigments that "fuses" with skin for superb coverage and smooth finish
-SPF 20

Packaging:
The foundation comes in a very small glass bottle(there is only 20ml of product, versus 30ml of most other foundations on the market). The cap has a solid plastic "dropper" on its underside and it helps dispense the product onto the fingertips, which is much more mess-free and sanitary than pouring the product directly out of the bottle. However, because the foundation is very thin and runny, I much prefer using the applicator to directly wipe the product on to my face (totally unsanitary, I know), but it helps waste less product.

Formulation:
The Fluid-Touch Foundation has, like its name suggests, a very thin and "watery" consistency (hands down the thinnest I've ever tried). I was quite worried that the thin consistency will cling to my dry patches and not help smooth out the skin. However, that was not the case. The foundation turns to an almost powder consistency once it touches the skin and it blends very easily. The coverage is surprisingly good and I absolutely love the soft, matte finish it gives (great for oily skin).
The shade I got is "10 Porcelain Ivory"; it isn't necessarily too light for me (I'm NC 20) but I think it has some very strong pink undertones, so do keep that in mind when finding your shade.

Maybelline Dream Wonder Powder in "20 Classic Ivory":
What it is:
-Medium coverage "wet process" powder foundation
-Smooth-whipped formulation that glides smoothly on the skin
-Ultra fine texture, 60% less talc than FitMe Powder

Packaging:
The powder comes in a slightly chunky two-layered compact. underneath the powder there is a mirror and a sponge for on-the-go application.

Formulation:
This powder is very cushiony and soft. I definitely can feel the "whipped" consistency of the formulation, the powder actually compresses when I push down on it with my finger. The coverage is buildable and I usually use it on top of a BB cream. There is a lot of fallout and "chipping" because of how soft the powder is so I wouldn't say this is very purse-friendly. Other than that though, I like how it smoothes out the pores and keeps the skin looking matte.
Maybelline Dream Wonder Powder in "20 Classic Ivory": Review and Swatches
Here is a face swatch of the Dream Wonder Powder on top of the Fluid Touch Foundation. I only applied a very thin layer of the liquid foundation (which already gives amazing coverage), but an even higher coverage can definitely be achieved!

Overall:
I absolutely love both of these products! The Fluid Touch Foundation gives an amazing matte finish to the skin and it is super lightweight, which works great for my oily skin. The powder is super fine and soft and it has a very smooth texture. Two big thumbs up for both!

Both products are available in stores as of July 2014.
