Sephora Pantone Color of the Year 2015 Marsala Collection: Review and Swatches
As you may know, Pantone has announced its new color of the year not too long ago and for 2015 it is a rich and warm nude red called Marsala. And as per usual, Sephora has teamed up with Pantone to release a Color of the Year Collection. I have a few pieces from the marsala collection to share with you today, to check out some swatches and review, click........
Sephora + Pantone Universe Shimmering Marsala Cheek Trio ($35.00 CAD):
This is a gorgeous cheek palette featuring a matte Marsala blush, a matte peach nude called Coral Pink, and a cool pink champagne shimmer called Spanish Villa.
The palette comes in a white plastic compact with a reflective rose gold lid. The packaging, though nicely thought out, feels a bit flimsy. I wish it was made out of slightly higher quality material.
All three shades are super buttery and pigmented. Marsala, especially, is supersaturated so a little goes a long, long way.

Sephora + Pantone Universe Pro Angled Blush Brush ($40 CAD):
This is a luxurious slanted cheek/blush brush with a limited edition Marsala handle. The bristles are incredibly soft, as expected with all Sephora brushes.

Sephora + Pantone Universe Metalshine Liquid Liner ($23 CAD):
An incredibly opaque metallic red liner, the Metalshine Liquid Liner comes with a skinny brush tip. The formulation is quick drying and it is very long lasting. I wore it for the whole work day and it did not smudge a bit! This is definitely one of the must-haves from this collection.

Sephora + Pantone Universe Cooling Multi Stick ($25 CAD):
This is an interesting twist-up cheek/lip stick in an alluring metallic marsala shade. The casing is super chic with its rose gold reflective finish. The formulation, as the name suggest, is actually very cooling upon application. The color is quite shimmery, perfect for creating that summer glow.

Sephora + Pantone Universe Layering Lip Collection ($23 CAD):
A cute six piece lip crayon set, the Layering Lip Collection features various Pantone shades similar to Marsala. The packaging is twist-up so there is no sharpening needed. The finish of them vary; the formulation of these colors are not very long-lasting but they feel moisturizing on the lips.
Marsala: A shiny brick red nude.
Dusty Cedar: Nude mauve-y pink matte.
Canyon Clay: Brown pink matte.
Rose Dawn: Pale peach nude.
Muted Clay: Beige nude.

*Update: Marsala broke the second time I tried to use it. The crayon is incredibly soft and fragile, it pretty much just fell off the base while I was trying to apply it.

Overall:
Such a great color of the year, Marsala is definitely my type of red. So naturally, I am quite impressed with this collection. My picks are definitely the cheek trio and the liquid liner. The lip collection is great for nude lip lovers and the multi stick will delight those with a penchant for cream highlighters.
