Origins Clear Improvement Collection: Review

Disclaimer: The products featured were provided for review.
Charcoal as a skincare ingredient seems to be super popular right now and Origins has recently updated their Clear Improvement Collection with some body and face products packed with bamboo charcoal. I've been testing out the body wash, body scrub, and clay mask from the collection so I wanted to share with you some of my thoughts today. To read on, click.......
Clear Improvement Purifying Charcoal Body Wash &
Detoxifying Charcoal Body Scrub
Clear Improvement Purifying Charcoal Body Wash ($29 CAD):
Made with bamboo charcoal, this is a deeply cleansing body wash. The product has a dark grey color and you can actually see the miniscule charcoal particles suspended within. The scent is minty fresh and the body wash lathers really well on the skin. My skin feels really refreshed after usage but I do experience some dryness, especially on my legs and feet.

Clear Improvement Detoxifying Charcoal Body Scrub ($36 CAD):
With the same minty scent as the body wash, the Charcoal Body Scrub is made with scrubby sea salt and brown sugar particles. The product is not too rough but it packs quite a punch, especially with the addition of the clarifying charcoal. It works nicely on the body but I would not recommend trying it on the face as it may be too abrasive.

Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask ($30 CAD):
A clay mask infused with active charcoal, this is a really nice and clarifying mask. The scent is minty and the texture is ultra-smooth, reminding me a lot of the charcoal mask from Clinique. The mask dries to a really slick texture, which almost convinces me that it may be a peel-off mask but it still needs to be washed off like any other clay mask. My face is left feeling very smooth and cleansed, the mask is slightly tingly but it's fairly gentle.

I think this is a really wonderful collection for those with oily skin looking for some extra cleansing. The body wash and scrub duo is super refreshing and cleansing and the mask is great at absorbing excess sebum. However, if you have really dry skin on your body, daily use of the body wash and scrub might leave your skin a bit parched.

Origins is available online and in stores at Sephora, The Bay, and Shoppers.
