Disclaimer: The products featured were provided for review.
For Spring 2016, Chanel has a new color makeup collection inspired by Coco Chanel's love for pearl necklaces. Today I want to share with you a couple of lip products from the Les Sautoirs De Coco Collection (Coco's Necklace Collection). To see some swatches of the lovely mother-of-pearls Levres Scintilantes Lip Gloss in "216 Clarté" ($36 CAD) and the beautiful rose Rouge Allure in "166 Indémodable" ($43 CAD), click.......

The Levres Scintillantes Lip Gloss comes in a tall and thin tube with a standard doe-foot applicator while the Rouge Allure is housed in a snazzy push-to-open lipstick casing. Both packagings feature the classic black and gold Chanel aesthetics and the lipstick has a nice and luxurious weight to it.

The Levres Scintillantes gloss in "216 Clarté" (translates to "clarity" in English) is a really pretty opalescent shimmer. The gloss is mostly sheer, only adding a dazzle of iridescent sparkles. The formulation is fairly standard for a lip gloss; it's super shiny, cushion-y, and non-sticky. Also, there is no feeling of grittiness as the shimmers are very fine.
The Rouge Allure in "166 Indémodable" (translates to "timeless" in English) features a semi-sheer formulation. The creamy fresh rose goes on very smoothly but it requires quite a few coats for an opaque coverage. The lipstick feels very hydrating although the wear is a bit short.
