For Spring 2016, Kiehl's has added a new product to its fantastic family of face moisturizers. Formulated with shea butter and Edelweiss flower extract, the Ultra Facial Deep Moisture Balm is perfect for those with very dry skin. The thick and rich formulation promises to provide dryness-relief and long-lasting hydration. To read my full review, click.......
Kiehl's Ultra Facial Deep Moisture Balm
The Ultra Facial Deep Moisture Balm is available in two sizes: $34 CAD for 50ml or $62 CAD for 150ml. The balm comes in a simple white jar and because the balm is quite solid, I really appreciate the wide opening of the jar which allows easier access to the product inside.

Made with glycerin, shea butter, olive-derived squalane, and cocoa butter, the Ultra Facial Deep Moisture Balm is also infused with extracts of Edelweiss flower and Antarcticine (glycoprotein extracted from the Antarctic Sea). The Edelweiss flower extract promises to strengthen the skin's moisture barrier while the Antarcticine glycoprotein provides intense hydration.
The formulation of the balm is mostly scent-free but the texture is very rich. In fact, it's pretty much completely solid at room temperature and when you want to apply it, you'd want to warm the surface of the product before swiping off a thick layer. I have combination to oily skin but I sometimes experience extreme dryness around my lips and jaw line. The product absorbs fairly well and it provides an immediate relief from any dryness.
I wouldn't use this during the daytime because it does leave my skin looking just a tad greasy but when I use it during the night, I wake up with completely hydrated and nourished skin. So all in all, if you have dry to very dry skin, this balm is going to do you wonders!

Kiehl's products are available online and in stores at Kiehl's Boutiques and The Bay.
