Clarins Summer 2016 Collection: Review and Swatches

Disclaimer: The products featured were provided for review.
Clarins' summer collections always feature some great products and this year is no different. With a handful of gorgeous cream shadows and a beautiful bronzer powder, the Summer 2016 Collection is loaded with fun and sun. To see some swatches of the collection, click........
Clarins Bronzing & Blush Compact
Clarins Bronzing & Blush Compact ($42 CAD):
A beautiful four-tone bronzer powder, the Clarins Bronzing & Blush Compact is housed in a lovely amber compact with a geometric sun-shaped inlay. The powder has four distinct shades that blend together to form a beautiful natural tan with subtle golden sparkles. The formulation is very smooth and finely-milled. The pigmentation is excellent and the application is very even as well.

Clarins Waterproof Eyeshadow
Clarins Waterproof Eyeshadow ($24 CAD):
Featuring a unique cream formulation, the Waterproof Eyeshadows come in a very handy squeeze tube with a fine spout dispenser. The tiny nozzle allows easy control of just how much product would come out. The pigmented formulation applies like a soft cream, blending seamlessly on the lids. It sets within 30 seconds to a completely waterproof finish. Even though the shades are packed with shimmers, these shadows are virtually smudge-proof, even if I rub really hard with my fingers.

The shadows blend out to be quite sheer but if you apply using a tapping motion the coverage can be built. My only critique of the formulation is that it can feel just the slightest bit drying when it sets, so it may not be very suitable for those with dry or wrinkled eyelids.

01 Golden Peach: Soft pink champagne shimmer.
02 Golden Sand: Mossy taupe shimmer.
04 Copper Brown: Beautiful golden brown shimmer.

Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil in "03 Red Berry"
Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil ($25 CAD):
Formulated with jojoba oil and hazel seed oil, the Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil is a lightweight moisturizing gloss with a slight wash of color. "03 Red Berry" is a sheer red and the product comes with a very large doe-foot applicator that does a great job at providing a one-swipe application. Although this is called a lip oil, I find the texture more similar to that of a gloss. It's lightweight but the finish is slightly tacky.

Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in "11 Orange Shimmer"
Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector ($20 CAD):
A lightweight lip gloss with a sheer orange tint, the Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in "11 Orange Shimmer" has a lightweight finish and a really hydrating wear. The gloss comes in a squeeze tube with a doe-foot nozzle for easy, on-the-go application.

Clarins Fix' Make-Up
Clarins Fix' Make-Up ($30 CAD):
Formulated with aloe vera and allatoin, this is a hydrating face mist that promises to set and secure your makeup for the day. The product comes in a beautiful glass bottle and the liquid has a very subtle fruity floral scent. This is great product for those with dry skin that want a bit of mid-day refreshment. The mist is quite fine but I personally would avoid the eye area as eyeshadow and mascara doesn't stand very well to moisture. I honestly can't attest to how much longer this makes my makeup last as I don't really notice a huge difference; with that said, I think it works well at hydrating and refreshing the skin after makeup application or throughout the day.
