For Fall 2016, Yves Saint Laurent is extending its lip stain range with the new Vinyl Cream Lip Stains ($42 CAD). Available in 12 elegant and vibrant shades, the new collection promises an ultra high-shine finish with an intense pop of color. I tried a beautiful red from the line not to long ago and completely fell in love! So today I want to share with you three other shades from the range. To see some swatches, click......
YSL Vinyl Cream Lip Stains
Packaging:
The Vinyl Cream Lip Stain comes in a lacquered black rectangular tube with a gold YSL logo etched on the cap. There are tiny rectangular windows on the sides that show off the color inside. The flexible doe-foot applicator has a thin paddle design with a pointed tip. The design allows for a very precise application on the bottom lip, but I found it a bit too flimsy to coat my upper lip.

Formulation:
As mentioned in my review of the shade "401 Rouge Vinyle", the YSL Vinyl Creams are a gloss/stain hybrid lip color with a hydrating, high-shine finish. In terms of pigmentation, the three shades I have here vary quite a bit, with the sheerest being even sheer than the original YSL Glossy Stains and the brightest being very intense and saturated. The product is not completely transfer-proof but the two brighter shades leave behind a beautiful tint. To read my in-depth review of the Vinyl Cream formulation, click here. Below I will expand on all three shades.

406 Orange Electro: This is s beautiful orange-red with a slight hint of golden shimmers. The pigmentation is semi-sheer but buildable. It is sheerer and lighter compared to "Rhythm Red" (see below).
404 Nude Pulse: A soft peachy-pink nude, Nude Pulse is quite a challenge to work with. Because of the light and sheer pigmentation, the color looked super patchy and wrinkly on my lips. For the swatches below I used numerous coats to build a passable coverage. I would only recommend this shade to those with very pale lips.
411 Rhythm Red: A mandarin orange red, this shade is very pigmented and bright. It's perfect for those that like orange lips but don't want to go all out.
