Packaging:
The Double Wear Nude Cushion Stick comes in a 14ml tube. On one end you have a shiny gold base that you can grip and turn to dispense the product and on the other end there is a cap you can pull off to reveal the sponge-tipped applicator. The product directly dispenses from the opening on the sponge applicator but the wonderful thing is that you can twist off the sponge tip to reveal a precise dropper applicator. The removable sponge tip is great for two reasons: it makes cleaning the sponge much easier and it allows you to hygienically dispense the product when you don't want to use the sponge.

Thus far I have been pretty ambivalent about cushion foundations and sponge applicators. For me, finger tips or sometimes foundation brushes are the way to go. The Double Wear Nude Cushion stick definitely makes application easier if you are on the go but ultimately I still prefer applying the product with my fingers. The sponge applicator on this one has quite a large opening in the middle so each time I try to blend out the product on my face, the hole leaves behind small foundation impressions on my face, which require extra time and effort to blend out.

Formulation:
I've never tried the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation before but I can assure you that the Double Wear Nude Cushion Stick formulation is very different from the original. Formulated with murumuru butter and hyaluronic acid, the Double Wear Nude has a very creamy yet lightweight, almost moisturizer-like texture. The coverage is pretty sheer so if you have a lot of discoloration and blemishes, this needs to be paired with a good concealer. "1N2 Ecru" is a light neutral beige, comparable to NC15 to NC20.

I am usually not a fan of sheer foundations because I have fairly oily skin. Foundations in general will make my face appear oilier so if I am wearing a foundation, I at least want it to have a very good coverage. However, the Double Wear Nude Cushion Stick was surprisingly kind to my skin. I didn't experience any more shine and oiliness than I normally do, so it's definitely a good sign. The foundation performed more like a BB cream and at the end of the day my skin was hydrated and well-nourished. All in all, this is great for someone looking for a sheer coverage and a moisturizing wear that extends throughout the day without feeling icky or greasy. If you want full, long-lasting coverage, though, the original Double Wear is your best bet!
