Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Foundation & Multi-Perfecting Concealer: Review and Swatches
Guerlain is back at it again with the release of two new complexion products for Fall 2016. The Lingerie de Peau Foundation is a relaunch of a fan-favorite and the Multi-Perfecting Concealer, believe it or not, is the brand's first ever concealer! If you are a foundation and concealer addict, read on to find out what I thought of these two products.......

Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Foundation ($69 CAD):
Relaunched for Fall 2016 with an updated formula, the Lingerie de Peau Foundation comes in a sleek glass bottle with a classy black and gold cap etched with the Guerlain Logo. The packaging is equipped with a pump dispenser to keep the product mess-free and sanitary.
With a "micro-mesh" formulation that fuses with the skin, this foundation has a very lightweight and silky texture. Although this foundation doesn't promise to be high-coverage, I find that it is pretty pigmented and a little goes a long way. I would categorize this as a medium coverage foundation but it can definitely build to a more opaque coverage.

Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Foundation in "01N Very Light"
I have oily skin but the finish of Lingerie de Peau looked fairly natural shortly after it set. Throughout the day, I didn't see any more greasiness or shine than I normally would with a non-matte foundation so that's definitely a good thing. However, the downside of this foundation for me is that I didn't like how it looked on my skin. Because the formulation really clings and fuses to the skin, the foundation doesn't do a lot of smoothing or blurring and for someone like me who has a ton of enlarged pores and acne scars, the overall finish just looked a little rough and grainy. I felt like I can almost spot the individual pigment particles on my face, which is definitely not very flattering. With most foundations, I apply a powder after application to mattify the finish but with the Lingerie de Peau, I found that I needed a powder to smooth and blur out the coverage. Also, I experienced noticeable creasing around the side of my nose, which is a big no-no for me.

Overall this foundation has its merits (ex. lightweight, breathable); however, I think it is definitely more suitable for those with decent skin that only want coverage as opposed to a smoothing and blurring effect. If you have fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, or enlarged pores, I would actually recommend the Guerlain Pure Gold Radiance Foundation, which has a very cushioning formulation that will help blur and camouflage texture imperfections.
The foundation is available in 14 different shades, ranging from cool, neutral, to warm tones. I have here "01N Very Light" (see swatches below), which is comparable to an NC15 to NC20.

Guerlain Multi-Perfecting Concealer ($42 CAD):
Can you believe that before the launch of this product, Guerlain has never had a concealer before? Well, after years of research and development, Guerlain is finally introducing its first ever concealer called the Multi-Perfecting Concealer. Packaged in a compact squeeze tube, the concealer dispenses from a tiny elongated spout so it's super easy to control how much you apply. Most concealers, including some of my favorites, usually come in a tube form with a doe-foot applicator so I totally commend Guerlain for sticking with a much more sanitary packaging. The thought of dipping and re-dipping doe-foot applicators gives me the heebie-jeebies so being able to squeeze out my concealer without contaminating the reserve gives me immense peace of mind.

Guerlain Multi-Perfecting Concealer in "01 Light Warm"
With a slightly thicker texture, the Multi-Perfecting Concealer is not the most pigmented concealer on the market. However, I do like how it blends fairly easily despite being on the thicker side. Because of the lower coverage level (for a concealer), the Multi-Perfecting Concealer is more suitable for the undereye area as opposed to blemishes and acnes. The wear is very good as well since the concealer really clings to the skin. I experienced no fading or creasing.

On the downside, the shade selection is pretty slim. The Multi-perfecting Concealer is only available in six shades and even though "01 Light Warm" (the shade I have here) is one of the lightest of the bunch, it's still quite a bit darker than the foundation shade. I can still wear the two together with no problem but I definitely think Guerlain should release a few more shades! In the swatches below the "01 Light Warm" concealer somehow ended up looking so much lighter than "01N Very Light". In reality, though, the concealer is actually a tad darker.
