Tarte Color Wheel Amazonian Clay Blush Palette: Review and Swatches
For Holiday 2016, Tarte released a limited edition blush and highlight palette featuring ten brand new shades. Housed in a shiny double-sided palette, the Color Wheel Amazonian Clay Blush Palette ($57 CAD) definitely makes a great gift item (or a nice extension to your everyday staples). Formulation:
The Tarte Color Wheel comes in a round shiny gold palette. The lid is printed with a colorful design and both sides of the compact are embedded with five blush shades so you get a total of ten colors weighing at 2.4g each. To keep the powders from mixing, Tarte added a clear plastic divider.

Formulation:
Included are ten different Amazonia Clay powders, eight of which are blushes and two are highlighters. In terms of the finishes for the blushes, you get six mattes and two shimmers. Overall, the formulation is very good. The brighter mattes are on the sheerer sides but I find that it actually helps with a more natural application. All the highlighters are very fine and silky, no chalky texture and no chunky glitters. Read on below for a breakdown of all the shades.

Mod: Summery peach matte. This one is slightly sheer but the coverage is not uneven; it can be layered for a more intense application.
Deco: This is a matte coral pink. Again, the pigmentation is on the sheerer side but the coverage is buildable.
Surreal: Soft baby pink matte, Surreal is sheer but non-patchy.
Culture: Bright coral with gold sparkles. The formulation for this is very pigmented but the texture is softer compared to the others so there is some fallout.
Idol: Gorgeous deep champagne shimmer. The formulation is super creamy and pigmented.

Icon: This is a matte dusty rose, the formulation is semi-sheer but buildable.
Montage: A slightly brighter version of Icon, Montage is comparatively more pigmented. I was a bit disappointed that they included two shades that are so similar to each other.
Ironic: Deep matte rose; this one is well-pigmented and soft. In person, this one is actually pretty similar to both Icon and Montage. It's a beautiful color but again, the three rose colors are too similar.
Crafty: Subtle cool-tone champagne highlighter. The formulation is very fine and silky; there are no chunky glitters or excessive fallout.
Concept: Satin warm beige with subtle gold sparkles. The formulation for this one is pigmented and smooth.
