Mary Kay Spring 2017 Light, Reinvented Collection: Review and Swatches
Spring is all about soft pastels and light candy hues and Mary Kay brings us just that with its upcoming Spring 2017 Light, Reinvented Collection (available February 16th). Inspired by the luminosity and radiance of sunlight, the limited edition range features quite a handful of lovely colors for the eyes, lips, and nails. Mary Kay Spring 2017 Light, Reinvented Collection Eye Color Palettes: Review and Swatches
Mary Kay Eye Palette ($26 CAD):
Housed in a geometric black pan (3g per quad, compacts sold separately), these palette refills feature a lovely mix of soft spring hues and darker night time jewel tones. The Glistening Horizon quad comes with a matte baby blue, a shimmery soft rose champagne, a matte medium purple, and a satin dark blue. The two matte shades are a bit powdery but their color payoff is decent. Both the champagne and the dark blue, on the other hand, are very pigmented and creamy.

The Sunlight quad comes with a matte peachy nude, a matte soft lavender, a matte baby pink, and a matte soft orange. Interestingly, all four shades look a bit shimmery in the pan but when swatched they appear very matte. The peach nude and the lavender is a bit sheer but the pink and the orange are very nicely pigmented, albeit a bit fall-out prone.

Mary Kay Spring 2017 Light, Reinvented Collection Glossy Lip Oil: Review and Swatches
Mary Kay Spring 2017 Light, Reinvented Collection | Glossy Lip Oil
Mary Kay Glossy Lip Oil ($19 CAD):
Packaged in a convenient 8.5g squeeze tube, this is a non-sticky lip gloss infused with oils of grape seed, avocado, and jojoba. Unlike previous squeeze tube glosses, the Glossy Lip Oil is equipped with a nice flocked cushion dispenser that's so much better than the old plastic spout applicators.
Although these are called lip oils, the formulation is really that of a lightweight lip gloss. Sheer Pink is a sheer milky lilac, Magenta Ray is pretty pigmented bright pink, and Brilliant Violet is a sheer soft orchid. Lastly, the product doesn't seem to have any scent as far as I can discern.

Mary Kay Spring 2017 Light, Reinvented Collection | Nail Lacquer
Mary Kay Nail Lacquer in "Brilliant Violet" ($10 CAD):
This is a gorgeous orchid cream with a very smooth formulation. The color is not super pigmented but I was able to get a very nice coverage with two thin coats.
Mary Kay Spring 2017 Light, Reinvented Collection Nail Lacquer Brilliant Violet: Review and Swatches
Mary Kay Nail Lacquer in "Brilliant Violet"; two coats with no top coat.
Mary Kay Nail Lacquer in "Luminous Mauve" ($10 CAD):
A soft lilac cream, Luminous Mauve is surprisingly nice and even. Again, the formulation isn't so pigmented that it's a one-coat wonder but it is completely opaque with two thin and even coats.

Mary Kay Nail Lacquer in "Luminous Mauve"; two coats with no top coat.
Mary Kay Nail Lacquer in "New Blue" ($10 CAD):
A soft baby blue, New Blue is nicely pigmented but slightly runny. With two coats I was able to get a pretty good coverage.

Mary Kay Nail Lacquer in "New Blue"; two coats with no top coat.
Mary Kay Nail Lacquer in "Vivid Sunburst" ($10 CAD):
This is a juicy and bright cream orange. The formulation is nice and pigmented; I used two coats for the swatches below.
